Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!

Now That I Am Back…

Friends, It’s good to return to the blog after a few days of retreat in a very beautiful and inspiring place. I hope you are all well. Being away and out of pocket is a nice change of pace but when you return the concerns of life start to rush back in. Please help me catch up on what’s going on. I will do my best to catch up on your posts over the past few days.

Returning to work wasn’t as rough as it could have been. No serious things took place while I was away. When I got to it today I did make quota and then some because that is just me doing what I know how to do.

The weather around here is nice and seasonal. I am glad its cooled off. The temperatures are what they are supposed to be this time of year.

My Cursillo Weekend

I was blessed to be among some great people at the 48th East Tennessee Episcopal Cursillo weekend. A Cursillo is a 3-day spiritual retreat where one listens to short talks, participates in discussions and spends time in prayer and worship. Our time together was renewing and inspiring.

It was a great time spending the last three days learning more about my faith, becoming renewed in my relationship with God and strengthening my connection with the community of Episcopalians of East Tennesseee.

Status Update

Farewell friends and fellow bloggers Signing off until Sunday evening. Have a great rest of your week. Grace and peace everyone.

Full Is Not Full Just Saying

A full life does not mean having a full schedule or a full bank account or a full squad of friends. I think that the notion that more is better is a false one. Quality should win over quantity every time. Enjoy life under your own terms not by what others have said is best.

Getting Away On Retreat

Friends,

As of this evening I will be away from everything until Sunday. I will be going on a 3 day spiritual retreat which means my blog will be taking a break. I will be posting some throughout today and I plan no automatic posts over the next few days. You need a break from me. Feel free to browse through my blog and catch up on old posts if you wish. I have some great stuff that I have posted over the past couple of years.

Getting away is a good thing every now and then so that you can take inventory of yourself, your beliefs and to just plain renew your soul. Communing with other believers will be good for my mind, body and spirit. Retreats are meant to remove you from your daily routines. Giving up some control over your circumstances can be a way for you to not have to worry about whats next. I am looking forward to hearing my God speak to me. Getting away from what’s happening in the world will be great.

Thank you for being wonderful friends and your support is appreciated. Grace and peace to you all. God bless.
