Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!

Quote Of The Day

I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.

Something About Men

I am secure in being a white man who knows that the world should not cater to me. Those days I hope have passed. Those men who think the world is their oyster should think again. So what if there are men who march to the beat of their own drummer and don’t fit the traditional roles.

The world has changed. It’s sad to see so many people who want to drag it back into a place. Those who aren’t men are forced to return to a time that was not full of opportunities and safety.

I would rather be a good human than a good man. Sometimes you can do both. In this world we live in, humanity is the most important thing.

Thought Of The Day 07022024

Sometimes you have to leap outside your comfort zone.

President or King?

So, with the Supreme Court ruling does that mean we have a king instead of a president now or not? Just asking for several million people.

Elections have massive consequences. No one should ever be above the law. Trump should never hold high office again.

Happy Canada Day 2024!

Yes, I am not Canadian but I love recognizing this important day to a country I am a big fan of. May this be a day of remembering all the good things Canada is about while acknowledging there is still work to be done regarding reconciliation with the peoples of the First Nations. I hope you all enjoy the day however you choose to spend it. Canada always strive to be strong, compassionate, kind, and free for everyone.

Last Day Of June, Last Day Of Pride Month

Today is the last day of June and the last day of LGBTQ Pride month. I hope this month will increase the spirit of those in the community as we face an uncertain future with the 2024 election coming up. My friends I am glad to be in your corner. Being LGBTQ is being yourselves. Be strong and keep up the good fight. Grace and peace to all my friends who want to live without fear and hatred. So, everyone in the US, UK, and Canada make plans to vote like freedom and democracy depend upon it. Because it does. I hope your June was a good one.
