Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!

‘X-Files’ reunites Mulder and Scully in search for a truth closer to home | Reuters

For nine years on Fox’s hit sci-fi show “The X-Files,” FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully searched for an alien truth that was seemingly hidden in the skies. But as they return to screens this week, the truth might be much closer to home.

The X-Files was a staple of Sunday night TV for years. It’s return is a walk down memory lane for many and a introduction to others of some great characters. I want to believe this will be great.

Surprise, I Am A Little Judgemental…

I have come to the conclusion I am judgmental. Everyone is to some extent, me included. Perhaps it comes from me being an idealist who thinks everyone should think and be similar to me or think as I do. That sort of goes against one of the big parts of my faith. I am very grateful that my creator helped make forgiveness a reality with His Son. The one thing I can say is that I might have a little something in me that thinks that not everything that happens that isn’t right is about me. Some of you would call that narcissistic tendencies. All I can say is that I am very human and I do screw up. Something happened today that triggered that realization of me being judgmental. My wife called me on it and its something I need to work on. Maybe its time to open my heart and mind a little more, well there’s no maybe, it’s time.

A Note About My Blog

a9d56-12144234_924065451006890_590919725_nMy blog unlike my Facebook timeline is where I tend to be more open and authentic. Unfortunately you have to censor yourself on Facebook because some followers there don’t always agree with you on politics, religion, sports, etc.

Here I do reserve the right to express myself, less filtered. I will share more here than I will there. Even though we won’t agree 100% on everything we will have more in common and be respectful of each other’s differences.

Bloggers tend to be more thoughtful, caring and passionate. We also work on making the world a better place, although we do it from different perspectives. It’s OK to disagree but it seems that we tend to have productive dialogue and conversations in the blogosphere.

I salute each of you for being who you are and how you were made. You are an original and you share the best and worst of you and it shouldn’t be any other way.

Stephen Colbert on Sarah Palin

I am going to leave this right here. He is quite funny here.

Blog Platform Blocking

adblock_236247622-thumb-380xauto-3929Every blogging platform should have a blocking feature as to protect people from unnecessary harassment and hate. Too many folks out there are ridiculed and bullied for no reason at all. Protecting one’s heart and soul online is imperative these days. We can’t take any chances especially with younger folks who are the most vulnerable. One day I hope WordPress will have such a feature. We cannot take any chances in the world in which we live.

Six Word Story

I am kind of dense sometimes.
