Assisting In The Eucharist At St. Peter’s Episcopal Church

20160117_120859(0)

Today at church I assisted with the Eucharist/Communion at church for the first time since I have been at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. This is me in an alb which is a liturgical vestment that is worn in many churches for the clergy as well as those assisting in the Mass/worship. I am holding a chalice with real wine that we use each week in worship. I love doing this sort of thing at church because it brings me closer to Christ to help others in such a way.

Happy Sunday Good People

I hope you all have a great day. May God bless and keep you today. Have fun in whatever you are up to today. Grace and peace y’all.

Nerds/Geeks Can Enjoy Sports Too

It’s true, I enjoy athletic competition. Sports have lots of nerd friendly stuff like math and science. It’s also a cultural event too. Many of my fellow nerds just can’t get into it and call anything athletic “sportsball” because to them it’s just a foreign thing. Granted I am not a hardcore sports fan, I don’t watch ESPN (a sports channel in America) all the time nor do I read the sports page of the local paper all the time. For me sports is about supporting community teams and I try to relate to others this way. I am not big on golf though although I do have a friend who is big into it. Sports can be a way to release aggression and it can promote physical fitness too. Fantasy sports can blend technology and sports through fantasy football and the like. So fellow sports fans, cheer for the home team wherever you are.

Losses Early In This New Year

In a week where we have lost David Bowie, Alan Rickman and Dan Haggerty another person lost her husband and brother. Celine Dion has had a very tragic few days having suffered two major losses. Recently we lost Natalie Cole as well. At any rate there’s been too much loss for such a young year. 2016 isn’t going very well for many. Be grateful for what you have for as long as you have it.
