Thought Of The Day 12292023

As a believer in Jesus, I love this. Jesus will walk you through things and I think he will help you by sending people who can help you get through things. Mental health impacts everyone no matter their faith. His people are slow to figure all this out like in many things.

The Carters of Plains, Georgia

President Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter of Plains, Georgia are what Christianity in action is all about. If you are looking for a Godly example of what faith in national service can be you look at them. They are a power couple with a foundation love of neighbors, people, and country that sets them apart. We also must be mindful that they were humble servants who lived humbly and walked the walk.

God be with President Carter in these days ahead as he is dealing with his own health concerns.

It’s Cyber Monday

Cyber Monday is a big deal for online shoppers. Billions will be spent by the end of the day. Retailers like Amazon and Walmart are going to make a mint today. If you participated in today’s frenzy I hope you got some great bargains. May your gifts be well received on the big day.

The Reality Of Life and Death and Facebook/Social Networking

I just found out that a friend of mine from my childhood passed away in 2021. We were both connected on Facebook but I didn’t get word on my feed. Today was his birthday and I went to wish him a happy birthday and that clued me into the fact he was no longer with us.

First, I am sad he is gone. Sad for him and his family who miss him. I hate that I didn’t know he had passed. His absence from Facebook could have been any other thing than death. People take breaks and out of sight out of mind sort of thing. Don’t assume they are simply on a break.

Two ladies I was blogging friends with died, and after not seeing them for a while I became concerned. I didn’t know until I visited their pages to find out they had passed.

The moral of this story is to keep up with your friends. Facebook can be a tool to help with that but it isn’t always reliable. I need to keep up and others I hope will keep up with me. Connections and friendships are valuable don’t’ take them for granted.

Doctor Who @ 60 – They Are Back For An Adventure In Time And Space

Doctor Who has turned 60 years old this year and to celebrate there will be 3 specials that will air on the BBC in the UK and Disney+ everywhere else. Reprising their roles of The Doctor and Donna Noble, David Tennant, and Catherine Tate will take us on another adventure that will lead up to the 15th Doctor’s debut played by Ncuti Gatwa, and joining him will be Ruby Sunday played by Millie Gibson.

I think the timing is right for the Doctor’s return and for Russel T. Davies’s return as showrunner. However, I am still not happy about what he did to Torchwood which is another discussion for another day.

It’s time for some new adventures in time and space for Team TARDIS.
