Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!
Every year on June 14th countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day. The event, established in 2004, serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products, and to thank blood donors for their voluntary, life-saving gifts of blood.
If you can donate blood it’s a great way to be a true hero where you live.
Congratulations to the Toronto Raptors in winning their first National Basketball Association Championship. They did it against the best in the Golden State Warriors. Canada, a country I adore is celebrating coast-to-coast tonight. Way to go Toronto!
Women shouldn’t have to write under the pen name of a man to be successful.
Non LGBTQ folks need to catch up to the fact that there are LGBTQ people wanting to have a life and to live it without fear or permission or persecution.
The President of the USA is fundamentally ignorant about things outside his sphere of influence.
Even though I am not perfect and I make mistakes, I hope I am a good enough person to be a hero when I need to be. Also I hope I have enough in me to be there for those in my life who need help. Most importantly I hope I recognize when I spread myself too thin and need to give back to me somehow. For the journey ahead I hope I have what it takes.
