The word Revelation has a couple of different meanings for me. One religious/spiritual the other is a part of finding out who I am.
As a believer Revelation is a book of The Bible with a lot of imagery and apocalyptic writings dealing with how the world will end and that sort of thing. It’s a part of the story of faith but one I don’t pay much attention to. There are other parts of that Holy book that give me comfort and guidance.
Now revelation is how we reveal ourselves over time. It’s important to see how our story will unfold. There are truths we find in life and in the world that are important to help us understand what’s going on. It’s cool when we find out things about ourselves that are a part of our life’s journey. Surprises are a part of our personal revelation.
Bloggers create, writers create, artists create, musicians create, chefs create. When you create something you put a part of your point of view out there for the world to see, experience and consume. It takes courage to create things in the hope that others will like and enjoy it. The key is to do it for yourself first and don’t let others get you down when they don’t connect with your work. Being a people pleaser that is hard to do. One thing you can say is that you are brave enough to offer something different and from your heart. Go and create today!
When one goes through some adversity whether it be internal or external you learn things about yourself you didn’t know. The process of self discovery can be difficult but there is much to learn from the experience. I feel like when you go through things your prior experiences where you have been able to learn about how others cope is powerful and helpful for your future. Success and failure are two powerful teachers and the lessons you learn from both are valuable and necessary for personal growth and development.
As a man of a certain age I at times can be immature. I suppose the older we get we revert to an earlier age when we were childish or something like that. Life situations can make it hard to cope so we fall back on our childhood to give us a way to deal with them. Adulting can suck and all we want to do is build a blanket fort, get our comic books and fruity cereal and maybe whine about the world. Yeah sometimes immaturity has its perks.
Living with an attitude of gratitude is always a good thing. Being grateful for what you have and not worrying about the rest can make life easier. Thankfulness is a blessed thing. Be glad for the people and things you have no matter what.
There are traditions around the world that celebrate a new year coming. It’s a thing that brings humanity together to remember the old and realize the promise of the new. Whether we like it or not there will be a new year every year. So as we head into 2019 may the traditions that we have continue to connect us to past and present and future. So my friends I hope you have a great year ahead.
