I am a big fan of 1990’s country music and this song by Tracy Lawrence tells a story that time does march on, things do change, people are different as time goes on.

In honor of the music of Glenn Frey I give you “The Heat Is On” which has added meaning today for reasons. It might be cold but the heat is always on.
Glen Frey, founding member of the classic rock band The Eagles passed away today after a lengthy illness. His music with the Eagles influenced a generation of musicians and his solo career was part of the soundtrack of my youth. “You Belong To The City” from the Miami Vice Soundtrack was my favorite song of his because it has a wicked sax solo to get the song started. It also told a interesting story lyrically.
Glen Frey thank you for the music, memories and more.
I have compiled all the media clips into a category of their own. They are a collection of YouTube videos of music and other fun things to watch. In the future I will add some sound clips and podcast stuff. You can check them out on my blog by clicking on the “Music and Media” link on the menu bar. Check it out by clicking the link below.
This is my favorite song of David Bowie’s. This video was my introduction to him back in the day. I came of age in the 1980’s and this song is one of my favorites of all time.
I was surprised and saddened to hear of the death of David Bowie this morning. He was 69 years old but a very young 69. He gave the world some amazing music and entertained millions over his legendary career. His performance of “Heroes” at Live Aid back in 1985 remains my favorite performance of his. Bowie was one of my sisters favorite performers. May we all be heroes today and remember the Man who Fell To Earth. Rest in peace Ziggy Stardust.
