Fight the good fight my sisters and brothers. Let your voices be heard globally. May the force be with you today and always!

Something About Division

I was never really good at math but it doesn’t take a mathematician to see how divided the world is. We already know the USA is pretty divided at the moment and I am not confident the current president can heal wounds. To me what its all about is people seeking the same rights and privileges that others have had for hundreds of years.

We can see that one group is so afraid they won’t have control anymore while another group seeks the right for self-determination. Freedom is a very loaded word in that it means that one side wants the right to control everything, everywhere. It also means they get to call the shots too. But then another side is told they can’t have basic human rights such as health care, marriage, reproductive freedom, equal pay, and to just be treated fairly without prejudice and so much more.

Leveling the playing field benefits everyone. No one loses. So why do some want to make it hard for others. It doesn’t make sense to me.

I am an American but I am a citizen of the planet. One is no more important than the other. However some don’t see it like that. I don’t buy into America first at all costs because as long as someone suffers elsewhere then a higher power tells me to love thy neighbor as thyself.

We don’t have to be divided if we would be more generous, welcoming, loving and caring. Selfishness is a heart problem and no country will be great as long as it’s still a thing.

A Reminder…Love One Another

Love one another…that is fairly simple.

Something About January 2o, 2017

OK…Friday is a day many have been dreading for years, months, weeks, days. I am more than likely going to avoid Facebook and maybe Twitter. I recognize that democracy is in motion on January 20th as demanded by the American constitution. One thing I can say is that the world is going to be very different after 12 noon on Friday. I fear for the many people who will fear for the future because their marriages could be no longer recognized or their health care taken from them. I am usually a fair person but in this situation it really is hard to be knowing who is going to be president and the people he has nominated for his cabinet. I won’t be watching his swearing-in, I won’t be watching the non-stop coverage online or on TV. To me the best way forward is to do my job and to be there for my friends who are on the brink. As a white, Anglo-Saxon, protestant I resolve to do what I can to be a safe space for all who need help. So if you need someone, just call.

The Obama Family, Their Last Full Day

Election night in 2008 when they made history

Eight years ago a family from Chicago, Illinois came to Washington to lead and serve our nation. Barack, Michelle, Malia and Sasha have been a part of us daily. Today is President Obama’s last full day as President of The United States and the families final full day in The White House.

I would like to say how much I appreciate their service to this country and the world. So many things they did were to help everyone, everywhere. They made America great by being a super first family who helped us move forward. They inspired us with their Yes We Can attitude. Obama’s you will be sorely missed. God bless you as you leave public life and as you head toward the life of a regular family in DC.

Daily Prompt: Overworked

You know you are overworked when you see a lot of overtime on your check. People work more and harder to keep a roof over their heads. It’s not unusual to see people with 2 or more jobs. They are burning the candle at both ends and in the middle. Being overworked can lead to burnout and worse. Life is a constant struggle to make ends meet so being overworked and sometime over stressed in so many parts of life. The notion of working smarter means working harder because you have to. Maybe if more people did their part there wouldn’t be so many overworked people in the world.
