Something About Health Care

My wife has been in the hospital since Saturday with a serious infection that required emergency surgery. She has had a couple other follow-up surgeries to be sure they got the infected stuff out. It’s been a week we never saw coming.

The good news is we have employers who are understanding and compassionate. Our health insurance is good. The hospital she is at is a wonderful place of great doctors, nurses, nurse techs and other staff. A true blessing if you ask me.

In the hospital where my wife is a patient are other people and other families who have their own health struggles. My heart goes out to them. Many are truly suffering serious illnesses and have been there much longer. I hope there will be healing and comfort for all.

Everyone has a right to good, quality, life sustaining healthcare. That is something that has been fought over for years. No country of any worth should deny their citizens the right to live because it’s too expensive. Many countries around the world make this a priority. Let’s hope America one day will really do the same. Everyone should have life and freedom from unnecessary pain.

A Life And Wife Update

On Saturday I had to take my wife to the hospital with a serious infection that required emergency surgery. I am on leave from work to help care for her and myself. There is a saying that life comes at you fast and that is very true. She is doing better than what she was on Saturday. I want to thank everyone who has been there for us especially the nurses and doctors at her hospital. I am glad she is on the path to recovery, but we still have a ways to go.

Twelve Years At Blood Assurance – April 14, 2026

Twelve years ago today I began my work at Blood Assurance as a Telerecruiter. As I celebrate this work anniversary I think about the experiences and adventures I have had there. It hasn’t been easy, but my work there makes a difference.

My first desk on my first day at Blood Assurance.

Thanks to everyone along the way who have made this possible. Here’s to many more years down the road.

Daily Prompt – Favorite Restaurant

Daily writing prompt
What is your favorite restaurant?

This question is tough because I cannot pin one restaurant down. I am a big mom-and-pop restaurant type of guy. Diners are my favorite places to eat because most of them serve breakfast all day long. However, I do like ethnic places like Chinese, Thai, Indian and Japanese. Lately I have been finding out more about Korean. I like food that is seasoned but not spicy so that is a consideration. There are several places I enjoy around my city that serve good food at good prices.

Hello Friends, It’s Been A While

Friends, it’s been a few days since my last post. In that time I have celebrated my 27th wedding anniversary among just living the life. So, one could say no news can be good news.

I hope you all are doing well. Thanks for tuning in.

A Commentary on The Current Events of April 7th

When you threaten a country by violence or economic coercion to get what you want that is not leadership that is a moral failing based upon greed and sometimes hatred. I can say that right now that Donald Trump is a failure in every measurable way and is a danger to this nation and others. Conservatism needs a reset from the current course it has been on for much of the last ten years. Does it have the courage to remove the cancer that is Trump/MAGA? Our military should know that attacking a country based on sketchy intelligence is wrong. Voting has consequences and right now we are all feeling it. Something needs to change sooner rather than later. I don’t think those who can make it happen will be able to do so. This Iran situation is an example of incompetence all across the board.
