The week is done, thank goodness. Weekend has begun. Oh I switched my theme back to Twenty Sixteen again. Keeping things interesting.

Something About Believing

I believe in the creator of the heavens and our Earth. I believe in utopia. I believe in peace and tranquility. I believe in those who march to the beat of their own drummer. I believe in the Eucharist. I believe in the person who chooses to love who they choose to love bravely. I believe in the black sheep. I believe in the Trinity. I believe in my wife, my family, my comrades. I believe in the heroic and sometimes the heretic. I believe in my home and native city. I choose to believe in many things and to have faith in the things seen and unseen. Namaste, Shalom, Salam, Amen.

Cabbage Vepudu (Indian Fried Cabbage)

We had this new delicious dish along with Chicken Tikka Masala, yellow rice and naan. Very good stuff.

  • 1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp dried coriander (optional)

*(Note: This batch was made with one bag of pre-shredded cole slaw mix; that’s where there are carrots. They added a nice sweetness and color!)

Something About Protesting

In most countries the right to protest is a part of the rights of being a citizen. Some places deny their citizens that ability. Without protests we wouldn’t have civil rights for everyone. When there is a problem that impacts a segment of the population a message must be sent to make things right for the oppressed and the outcast. Some people don’t get why one group is protesting because they aren’t impacted by the thing or they might be the cause of the problem.

Standing up for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is a universal thing that everyone wants. When there is violence it must be protested. When there is injustice it must be protested. When there is hatred there must be a protested. When there is homophobia, racism, intolerance there must be a protest. To enjoy freedom for yourself you must seek freedom for others by non-violent protests that get your message across without harming others or destruction of property. Dr. Martin Luther King and Ghandi were masters at it. They created change without one single bullet.

Protest to create opportunity and change but never to deny anyone their rights to love and life. Stand up! Rise up! Show up!
