Getting Holy Week Ready

Today at church we made Palm Sunday crosses and stuffed Easter eggs for Holy Week celebrations. It’s going to be a busy week at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church as we conclude Lent and welcome Easter.

One Year Ago I Met This Little Fellow

I work for a blood bank and, was assigned to work an employee health fair for our local electric and internet utility service. While there I would answer questions and make appointments for donations. Other organizations were there including the Chattanooga Humane Society our animal shelter. They had this little fellow named Frankie who was there too hoping to inspire adoptions and to get adopted himself. I met Frankie and little did I know he would become our new dog a few days later. We had lost our Cody dog a couple months earlier and we were ready to begin the search. I took a liking to Frankie and so did my missus and we adopted him the following Friday. The old saying goes, adopt and don’t shop and I am glad we did.

The Thorne Sparkman School of Religion at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Chattanooga

This is St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. For the last five weeks we have come here on Wednesdays to participate in the Thorne Sparkman School of Religion that is a series of lectures on matters of faith. We have talked about religion in the public square this year and have had some great speakers talk about that heady subject. It’s been a blessing to be here at Lent where we have worshipped and fellowshipped. Thanks to our friends John and Connie for sponsoring us.

Spring 2024 Has Sprung!

Spring 2024 arrives officially as of March 19, 2024, at 11:06 pm Eastern Daylight Time. However, in some places, the temperatures are still very chilly. Don’t think winter’s weather can’t make a comeback because it can. Let’s hope that Groundhog was right. Happy Spring good people, enjoy the season.
