Thought Of The Day

Somehow milk is comforting and delicious in the heat of this Covid Summer.

My Monday Face Is On

Welcome to a new week. We all have our Monday faces on, right? Have the best day possible good people.

It’s That Time Of Year Again, Back To School Supply Shopping

Walmart has their school supplies out for sale now. Whether it be grade or high school or maybe college now is the time to pick up those supplies. It will be a weird year I feel for students around the world. Let’s see if the return to the classroom really happens.

Sunday Reflection: Life In Imperfection #sundaythoughts

Patience is a virtue. When it comes to having relationships with fellow human beings it might as well be divine. Loving ones neighbor can be a significant challenge. To be fair I am not always pleasant to be with and I have my own stuff that makes people crazy. Everyone has something.

Every rose has a thorn (I heard that in a song once) and sometimes we are the rose and sometimes we are the thorn. That is a necessary truth as we don’t become full of ourselves or anything like that.

We are all in need of that thing that means that no matter what we are we are still valued, loved no matter the baggage we carry. No one is perfect. Everyone has a fault but we are also special in that imperfection. So if you are dealing with stuff know that you don’t have to go it alone. In this day we need all the support we can muster.

Friends, I hope you are doing our best. May grace be abundant. Have peace this and in the days ahead.

(This is inspired by my priest, Fr. Quinn Parman)

If It’s Summer It’s Chili For Dinner

Yes, it’s in the 90’s here in Chattanooga but homemade chili sounds good for dinner tonight. It’s cooking low and slow today.

Rep. John Lewis Thank You For All The “Good Trouble” Rest In Power Good Sir #johnlewis

Former President Barack Obama presenting John Lewis with the Congressional Medal of Freedom.

Representative John Lewis of Georgia is a titan in the cause of civil rights, gay rights and human rights. Mr. passed away on July 17th, 2020 after a battle with cancer. His life was dedicated to making the world a better place for everyone. In every sense of the word he was a patriot. Thank you good sir for all the good trouble you caused in changing the world for many. You did things for others at your own peril and safety. Your legacy will be one celebrated in history and memory. Rest in power Mr. Lewis.

When you see something that is not right, not fair, not just, you have to speak up. You have to say something; you have to do something.
