I found this funny. As an Anglophile this is a weird time for me because of my love for England. I love the Queen and a lot of British stuff. There are some days I wish we could go crawling back…then there are some great things about America that make this place special too.

Big Brother 17 Premieres Tonight on CBS TV!
Tonight our annual rite of Summer begins as we get to see the house guests of the 17th season of Big Brother US. We can expect the unexpected and twists are a huge part of the game. The cast this year seems more diverse in many ways so that makes for a good season. Julie Chen also known as the “Chen Bot” shall guide us through this season of crosses and double crosses, backstabbing and all the stuff that people do when they are cooped up with people they just met. I can’t wait!
A Ramble On Being A Southerner
I have been a southerner my whole life and there are things about it I appreciate such as the food and the charm of many of its cities like my hometown of Chattanooga. I believe in a progressive vision of the south that includes people of all races, creeds, religions, orientation and politics. What I don’t embrace is holding on to the old south that relies upon relics from a bygone era such as a flag that has been in the news lately. The past in the south is something to be remembered in history as to not repeat it. We owe it to every person terrorized by the ways of the old south to step forward with helping every person realize the promise of the new ways.
In Observance of Memorial Day in the USA
Thank you to our veterans who have served and have given their lives. Our country is forever grateful. May we honor your sacrifice by being the best people and nation we can be. We also thank your families who remain and mourn your loss daily. Grace and peace to each person who has served or is continuing to serve.
Bridges of Understanding
I am a believer in meeting someone half way when they seek to build a bridge of understanding. Yes everyone carries a level of guarded optimism in the process but others carry some hurt and pain. Spreading goodwill among men and peace on Earth are things that should be universally embraced. Religion as imperfect as it is has been there to help people from all walks of life in all sorts of ways. As a believer I want to share my faith in a way that is informative and non-threatening. Faith is not a bad thing, it really isn’t. A lack of faith is not a character flaw, its a conscious choice. I hope I have made sense here.
