Friends, it’s here! The weekend has arrived. Let’s get things done, chill out some and have some fun along the way. For me it was a great week at work but I am still glad to be here in this moment as the weekend has begun. I hope each of you has a great one too! Grace and peace.

Coming Out And Living Authentically

Everyone wants the freedom to live authentically, to be themselves, to be who they in their heart and soul is for real. People get only one shot at this life and they should be able to make the most of it. For so many there is fear of disappointing those in their lives who might not understand who they really are.

So many in so many places there are people who desire to have a chance to express who they are without reservations or reprisals from others. Issues of gender, sexuality and love are fluid these days. Stereotypes are being broken down and people are learning what it is to embrace their interests even those who don’t fit traditional roles.

There are people in small places who live in sadness and fear because they don’t love in the same way their parents did. Coming out is a dangerous proposition because not everyone understands what it is to be a LGBTQ person. All they want to do is to exist in a place and space where they are loved and understood. Unfortunately many of them suffer the cruelty of people who find their way of life as evil, sinful, despicable, immoral as they understand it from a lack of understanding and grace. Many LGBTQ people have faced serious hate that they have taken their own lives to escape the pain they have endured from others who don’t want to understand them.

As people are celebrating National Coming Out Day today they are sharing their stories and joining in community with others who are just like them. As a heterosexual man I support those people who just want to be themselves. Gay people should just be allowed to be people openly and freely without fear. Things are getting better for them but there is still a long way to go. I am proud to be friends with a wide spectrum of people and some who embrace the rainbow that connects them to a community of love who just want to live in harmony with others. There is nothing wrong with these wonderful people. Without them much of our world would not be the same. Histoy chronicles many gay people who have done amazing things to make the world a better place.

My friends I support the LGBTQ folks in my life. If I could have more friends like them I would welcome that with open arms. There is still much I want to know about their lives. All I know is that they too are made in the image of God and they are special and unique creations placed here for a purpose. Love is love. Equality forever.

I Am Positive It’s Monday

proton-positiveToday is Monday and we are all getting back to work (except those who get today off because of Columbus Day or Canadian Thanksgiving). Holidays on Mondays mean three-day weekends for some which is awesome.

I am positive today will provide opportunities to do great things for those . Let’s try to think of Monday in a different way today or something like that. My friends let’s have the best day forward.

Simple Challenge

Post something new today if you haven’t posted in weeks and weeks. It doesn’t have to be long. Go ye therefore and blog good people. Make your blog come alive.

Going Deep

I enjoy looking at a blogs older posts. It is as important as the current posts. A person has a story that has a beginning and a blog is no different. So if you see a bunch of older posts with some unexpected likes that is why. I don’t mind fellow bloggers looking at my older posts. Go for it take a look back.

Something About This Election

Donald Trump is not a good man and how he has become candidate for President of the United States still baffles me. Video of him talking about his celebrity privilege to interact with women in an inappropriate way was brought to light yesterday and has created a firestorm for the candidate.

He is a boorish bully. Trump by his own words has demeaned women, minorities, the disabled and so many more. His running mate is not safe for the LGBTQ community because of laws passed during his term of Governor of Indiana. Republicans continue to look to the hard right in nominating their candidates which really never works out for those who vote for them. I also feel that the right-wing is using Christians to perpetuate and advance agendas that work against the least of these and those on the fringes.

Achieving peace doesn’t mean advancing war to get there. Too many men and women have been sent to the front lines unnecessarily. People like me support our military, we just don’t want them to have to go war without a really good reason.

If elected, Donald Trump would put the country and even the world in peril. Not only his temperament but his world view is troubling and somewhat dangerous.

My candidate for President, Hillary Clinton is not without issues. She is still by far the best choice at this time for America. She has the all the qualifications and the experience of being in government that will help people. There is also a historic element of her possibly being the first woman to be elected President of the United States. People bring up her emails and Benghazi but after spending millions of dollars in prosecuting and persecuting her there hasn’t been anything that to me is a massive red flag.

With all due respect, I think the GOP should be thinking about 2020 when they will have a chance at a do-over. The person they nominated is not a safe person to have in a school-house or even the White House.

There is a debate tomorrow which should be interesting. Let’s see how both candidates will respond to average, everyday people.
