I Am Taking A Serious Facebook Break

I have taken many Facebook breaks over the years. But this week I felt like I needed one because of all the political stuff happening. The murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk seems to have struck a nerve with lots of people, including me. Am I sad he died, no. Murder is never the problem.

But to venerate this man for his horrible politics and the things he says about people leaves me puzzled, curious and sad. I have seen happening on Facebook and yes some on Threads and Bluesky.

So many people I know personally not only digitally are reacting to this in a way that is not good for me mentally, is why I needed the break. Before something is said that fractures my long-standing relationships, I just left for good reasons.

So for the time being, I have decided to focus my connections elsewhere. There are lots of good people here on WordPress I would like to connect with more, as well as on my other socials. The most important people online, I know I can reach out to in other ways.

Let’s make this Facebook sabbatical fun and productive. Facebook, I will see you later.

I have deactivated my Facebook account for another hiatus. I spent two months off it from Thanksgiving through January. I went back to catch up and now its time to leave again. Some people come and go like I have and its all good. Sometimes you just need to stay gone for your own well being. I have found I really enjoy the blogging community to be where I enjoy my time online.

The One Month Mark Without #Facebook

facebook1

One month ago I went on a Facebook fast for personal reasons. It’s been a great experience where I have cleared my head and focused on other areas of expression like my blog. I remain connected on Twitter and Instagram. I don’t regret leaving one bit, but I know a return is in sight sometime in the future. So far so good though and I’ll go back when I am good and ready. Until then, steady on as they say.

Hi, I Am Tony And I Have Been Off #Facebook For Two Weeks

It’s been two weeks since I said farewell to Facebook for an extended period of time. I don’t miss it at all. Granted I am still connected to Facebook Messenger for communications purposes. I even deleted the app from my Google Pixel 3a smartphone. Right now my facebook account remains deactivated and I don’t plan on reactivating it for quite some time. Right now it is all about this lovely blog, Twitter and Instagram. Yes there is life without “The Book”

One Week Without #Facebook

Business-Does-Not-Need-Facebook-Page

So, today is my one week without Facebook anniversary. I have been just fine without it. Sure stuff is going on there I wonder about but in reality, I am learning that I just don’t need to know what is going on with everyone all the time. Avoiding drama is good for one’s mental health. As I wrote about earlier there is a Fear Of Missing Out but as you go along that fear is less and less.

Perhaps Facebook has told us that you can’t live without it but I know a few folks who are doing just that and many of them are fellow bloggers. Facebook can be a strong influence in terms of what is posted there. I am just glad there is one less thing to worry about. Let’s see how long this lasts, maybe it can be something long-term. We shall see.

Mark Zuckerberg I don’t need you telling me what to do! 🙂

Yet Another Facebook Break

Yeah, in order to clear the head and soul, I am taking another Facebook break until Sunday. To all who follow me there just take note. Of course I am available on Twitter and Instagram.
