Farewell Microsoft Internet Explorer 1995-2022

On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, Microsoft officially ended support for its once-dominant web browser, Internet Explorer. I remember first seeing it in its 2.0 version and I used it for a few years after it adopted Java and Animated gifs. MSIE put a hurting on then-dominant browser Netscape, which I still have nostalgia for.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 2.0

The Internet changed because of Microsoft. Developers made websites to work with it forcing people to use it over alternatives.

Competition finally began to eat into the market share dominance it once enjoyed. IE has been replaced by Edge, an excellent cross-platform browser that can be used on Windows and Linux.

The joke I have heard today is it’s the best browser to download Google’s Chrome. Well, I guess we will have to use alternatives now. Rest in Pixels Internet Explorer.

Sometimes just scrolling by something without commenting on it is the best thing you can do for your mental health and stuff like that.

Question Of The Day 11162021

Is it ironic to criticize the Internet for being too critical? Just asking.

Six Word Story

The Internet has some strange stuff.

Getting Away From Reality

I really need to get away from cable news. The election is over and perhaps more fiction and news from regular people would do me some good.

Right now I am doing some pretty heavy reading for my religious studies class so I don’t have it in me for more reading. Blogs are an exception to that rule though.

However, I am binging some sci-fi, fantasy and a little juicy romance on some streaming services so there is some balance there. I also watch stuff on regular TV. I guess anything you can do to provide a diversion in the days we live in at the moment.

Too Much Flash And Awe #Instagram #Twitter #WordPress #Facebook

Storytelling can be as basic as sharing a tale around a dinner table or in front of a roaring fire. It can be as complex as an app on your computer or phone with all its bells and whistles. It’s my philosophy that the more something does the less good it is at performing any one task well and that goes for websites and apps like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and even WordPress. Maybe the basics where its about text, images, videos and audio presented simply can get the point across. Innovation is great but when it makes sense and can be of help to the end user. You know, there is such a thing as too much flash and awe.
