Six Word Story

I’m moody, nerdy, creative, and unique.

Celebrating Black History Month

Black History Month is an annually observed commemorative month originating in the United States, where it is also known as African-American History Month. It is to remember important people and events in the history of the African diaspora. Without African people, the world wouldn’t be the same. So many good things have come from our African neighbors and friends. It’s a good and right thing to celebrate all the things this community has contributed to America and the world.

Status Update

The youth of the world will save it. The adults sure have screwed things up.

Lunch at Mimi’s

I love a good Reuben sandwich. This one from Mimi’s Deli in the Hixson community of Chattanooga is quite tasty. Paired with fresh cut french fries makes for a great lunch to power the day’s activities.

Resistance Birds

People have started using their state birds as Rebel Alliance–inspired symbols (from Star Wars) to say, “this is where I am, and I’m not okay with what’s happening.” This is the Mockingbird from Tennessee.

Cold

America is a cold place where ICE does things that freeze the soul. Nostalgia can be a dual-edged sword, but I long for days when there was warmth and sanity. There is so much going on that leaves a tear to the eye and a clenching of the heart. Life is hard, and the struggle is indeed real. It seems like Winter is everywhere and people are stuck out in the cold. Too many lives have perished in it. I wonder if the future is going to be frigid like the present. Friends safety comes from being out in from the cold. May no one else lose their lives and may they be safe. It’s cold, and I wonder when it will be warm again.
