Help In The Tough Times

Life is hard, its tough, its sometimes unforgiving. However life gives us people to help us along the way when you face hard, tough, unforgiving times. There is no shame in admitting you need professional assistance when you feel overwhelmed. Getting that help can save your life. Most of what we face in this world is situational and temporary. If we give life a chance we can make it. Winston Churchill once said “if you are going through hell, keep on going”. There is a way forward that does not involve ending your life or harming yourself.

I am not an expert but if anyone needs someone to talk to I am available. I am no expert but I do care. Locally there are resources available that can make a difference and help you get better. Have hope in a brighter tomorrow as you go through a dark present.

Love, grace and peace to you all.

A Time Of Rest and Renewal

Each of us has a time of rest, renewal and recreation. Without rest we don’t function at our best.

In many faith traditions believers are commanded to rest. Today is a day of rest or Sabbath for many. I went to church this morning to be in communion with my parish peeps and to be recharged spiritually and to worship together with others seeking the same thing.

Rest means letting go of work in whatever form that means to an individual. Once you leave your workplace, leave your workplace if you can. When you relax you must do it intentionally meaning whatever recharges you and gives you a reset, do that. You know what is best for you.

One’s imagination and life benefits from taking time for themselves. There is this self-care movement that reminds us that people need to push the pause button on life. It can be hard to find the time to chill out because we are over extended, over committed and over worked.

We all need renewal of mind, body and spirit. You can’t be your best if you are burning the candle at both ends. Really, you can find yourself again when you relax. Something I am learning how to do.

This post is inspired by my priest, Fr. Quinn Parman.

Something About Future Scheduling

Is it so wrong to put something down on your calendar a few weeks ahead? Seems that some folks are afraid to because a better opportunity might arise and they don’t want to be committed. Seems to me that people don’t wanna be heavily scheduled these days but opt for freedom in the moment. There’s nothing wrong with that but you know there is something to be said about planning and making a point to being somewhere and to engage in activities you can be ready for in the future.

Sure emergencies arise and you have to change plans but you can’t borrow trouble especially when you have an invitation in where someone who cares about you wants to have your presence. Maybe you can help someone who might need you down the road.

Little Women, Strong As Hell

91+1FZn0QGL._SY445_I have seen lately two adaptations of Louisa May Alcott’s “Little Women” and have enjoyed the story very much. Granted I am not much of a reader so I am learning more from the TV and Movie presentations I have seen. What strikes me is this story is about strong women taking care of business and family during the Civil War era. It also is a reminder of how good Men have had it in terms of social advantage and status.

Women in my mind are strong and fierce. They know how to survive. The little women of this story are truly giants who want to make contributions to family and the world. They survive by relying upon one another and do whatever they can to make their family thrive under the circumstances of the time.

Women are strong as hell and these women in this story prove it. Sure they have their moments of vulnerability and tragedy but it can only make them stronger. One thing these women can do is love strongly, which is inspirational. I appreciate this story reminding the world that if given an opportunity women rarely miss their shot in life.
