Theresa May began her political career in the middle of Margaret Thatcher’s premiership and has long been touted as the woman most likely to become Britain’s second female prime minister.

Later today Theresa May becomes the new Prime Minister of Great Britain. She follows in the steps of Sir Winston Churchill and Baroness Margaret Thatcher. From what I have read she will be a tough leader and will have to negotiate terms of the Brexit leave of the European Union. She is going to have her work cut out for her as she succeeds outgoing Prime Minister David Cameron who served for six years. .

My British/UK friends, what say you about your new Prime Minister?

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — After 14 months of policy clashes and moments of mutual disdain, Bernie Sanders endorsed Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination on Tuesday, clearing away the last major obstacle to a united Democratic front heading into the party’s convention this month and the general election this fall.

Sec. Clinton and Sen. Sanders have come together. I am pleased with this. We shall see how things go heading into the convention. Perhaps she will choose him as her VP running mate. Some aren’t thrilled with this but it is what it needs to be. Voting is important and we have much to decide in November.

In case you wondered what people from other places do to make the world better. There are a lot of things that make life easier, more delicious, healthier and safer. Without immigrants my country as it is right now wouldn’t exist.

I am not sure what to say after last night’s vote to leave the European Union. To my friends and fellow bloggers in the UK, stay the course on your own lives. Go out tonight and have some fun. Forget for a moment the politics that led to this vote. Hang in there. You have my support. It’s not the end of the world, although for some it feels like it this morning. Others are celebrating the results. Rule Britannia.

Stay or Go, The UK Decides It’s Future In The European Union #Brexit

Go-Vote-500x500The people of the United Kingdom are going to the polls today to decide whether or not to stay in the European Union. It’s a decision that has local, national and global implications on every level. Citizenship in Europe clears hurdles for UK citizens to do a lot of things in other countries in the union which works for and against the country. There is also the economic considerations for both Britain and the rest of the continent.

Granted, I don’t have a vote in this but I think the UK is better together with Europe. Perhaps some adjustments could be made to give a little more independence on some issues important to the country. Overall, it needs to be what is best for the citizens of all involved.

This campaign sign is posted in Polk County, TN which is near Chattanooga.  Here is what I have to say about it.

Can someone tell me what century we live in again? There is so much to say about this. For one, America was not “white” to begin with. Two, this sign is a reminder of how selfish and ignorant people choose to be. Three, this man as well as others of his kind should repent for their sad, broken, pathetic hearts. Four, it’s a hard reminder that America will never be great as long as people like him are considered for leadership of this country. I should feel sorry for him but I don’t because he is on the wrong side of history. People like him are a relic of a horrible part of our history where people were lynched, spat upon, called names. The America he wants is one where “colored” people still sit in separate sections of restaurants, restrooms, buses and other public places. As long as racism, homophobia and discrimination are a part of the fabric of America there is little hope of greatness. Anyone who defends this man reveals their true character.

I said I would be positive this week but this is a story too important not to share.
