Quote Of The Day

Whenever you get to win, you feel the satisfaction of all of your hard work, all the sacrifices, all the blood, sweat and tears. It feels right and makes you realize that you are really doing the right thing.

Memorial Day Reflection #memorialday

It’s strange that Memorial Day is not more sober and somber. The idea of celebrating it with barbecues and parties seem weird to me. Perhaps this should be a day of mindfulness and service. Those who didn’t come home from war should be honored in a different way.

To all who gave the ultimate sacrifice may what you did never be in vain and may all people benefit in pursuing life and liberty and responsible freedom. Grace and peace to you and your families who mourn this day.

May there be peace on Earth. No more bloodshed, no more pain. No more wars

Pre-Memorial Day Reflection

Monday is Memorial Day in the USA where those who served and sacrificed everything in the military are remembered and honored. A solemn and serious time of reflection and honor to those who are no longer with us because they died for their nation.

It is my hope that those who have served and sacrificed over the past few years have done so for all Americans. Freedom and liberty are two words used a lot in the USA and it doesn’t seem everyone has access to those ideals that many people hold fast to their heart and soul.

Yes, I am a liberal but I respect those who chose to wear the uniform of this nation. Not everyone can or will make that choice and its an individual decision. Also not everyone is suited for this type of service. For those who serve who are also a part of the LGBTQ community thank you for being on the wall, on the front lines and doing so even though many in this country hates you just for being who you were born to be.

Let’s remember those who gave all but strive to make that sacrifice worth it for everyone. It’s the American way isn’t it?

Something About Sacrifice

Some of us sacrifice in different ways for a higher purpose. Many have given careers, money, relationships and their lives so others can have a better life. To me sacrifice is personal and to say one person’s sacrifice is not the same as another diminishes the whole notion of giving up something for someone or something else.

Sacrifice For The Greater Good, Just Saying

Sometimes sacrifice is necessary for the greater good. Giving up some of what you have to make things better for all is a noble gesture. It’s not easy but the rewards are plenty. If one has lots and some have none then why not give to make everyone happy. Doesn’t a win-win situation work better than seeing suffering in the world. What’s in it for us is always better than a self-centered approach. Greed for lack of a better word is so not good, just saying.
