Busy Doing Sunday

This is the way Sunday should be. Just chilling out without a care in the world. But we all know what lurks in the shadows…Monday.

Sunday Reflection – Rest

The need for rest is important. In scripture, rest is a must. We do much better as human beings when we have it. Unfortunately, some cannot have much rest because they have to be constantly working to make a living or just to fight for their rights. Everyone must be afforded rest no matter their situation. It can be exhausting having to be on the go every day.

The rest I am speaking of comes from being able to just breathe, restore one’s spirit and feel a sense of freedom. Sleep is rest but so is the ability to just slow down and just exist freely. When you are done with your day’s work the greatest thing is to go home, enjoy a meal and do other things.

Resting can mean finding a place to go where you can recharge and renew. Our souls are better when they are refreshed. May we all find that secret sauce that will help us find the rest we need so that our journey will be good. Also, may we help others find rest as they fight the good fight and not add to their struggle.

Rest my friends. Rest.

The Weekend Is Here!

Hey, you guys it’s the weekend. Let it be a great one for each of us. Have fun and all that jazz. Love and peace to you all.

Sunday Reflection: Time to Rest and Time to Serve

Here’s a few thoughts inspired by the day.

Take Time to Rest – Everyone needs a day to chill out and renew. Everyone seems to be overscheduled and overworked and that isn’t good. We all need at least one day where we can reconnect with ourselves, others and, to reset ourselves. If rest is good for the divine its good enough for me. Rest and recreation are given a bad rap and that shouldn’t be the case for anyone. Don’t look for things to do because certainly you will find plenty of stuff to occupy your mind and time. Busy is not good for anyone.

Power In Service to Others – So many people look for power and status that they fail to realize that power can be found in serving others. Our world needs helpers more than it needs bosses these days. To me, service can impact the lives of many and that is a powerful thing. Everyone in service to others has the capability to make the world a much better place and you know that is a special place to be in. Not to say that people in power don’t serve but if one is just interested in a position and not the responsibility then there can be a problem.

I hope you all have had a restful Sunday and that you are ready to serve in the coming weeks ahead. Grace and peace and love to you all.

Happy Weekend Friends and Neighbors

The weekend is now and that is awesome sauce. I hope you all have time to rest, renew, restore, and re-create, or try to at least. Be good everyone. Love and peace.

Sunday Reflection: Fairness

As we have seen lately life is so not fair. It can be annoying that way. Things are difficult for everyone. The Rolling Stones sang you can’t always get what you want, that is wisdom for everyone. No one can win all the time. Life is set up for some adversity and the lessons taught there are valuable.

Fairness is something hoped for however it isn’t always what you get. The world has lost so many good people in the past few months that its very human to ask where the fairness is here. It can be tough for all of us to keep going when there is always something that can smack you across the face and make you feel like nothing is going right. When we see injustice happening it’s understandable to say something isn’t fair.

Everyone should have some level of anger when you experience an unfair level of strife and disappointment. No matter what you must keep moving. Remember there are a lot of people who are going through the same thing. While someone gets away with all sorts of things, fairness can be a source of justice.

Sticking together can keep you going when the chips are down. No matter what time in your life you are entitled to ask why things aren’t fair. Someone has an answer, that’s fair enough I would think.
