Pre-Thanksgiving Thoughts

Thanksgiving in America is a time for families of all types and friends of all types coming together to give gratitude for the things they have in this life. Granted it has a problematic past when you look at it with 21st century eyes and sensibility.

I will admit a lot has happened since that first Thanksgiving celebration that has not been good. However, I believe it can be a positive holiday for people where you can remember the past but forge a new future. In the days we live in being grateful is important.

For those celebrating where they are not fully accepted for one reason or another, I hear you and you have my support. Some folks cannot go home because they have been kicked out for living their truth on their own terms. LGBTQ folks especially. May your future be one of reconciliation and restoration.

As you observe and celebrate remember those who have been lost due to illness, violence, racism, and the Coronavirus. Many tables will have spaces where loved ones a year ago were celebrating. Much has changed since 2019 and I understand that fully.

Be good to one another. Seek peace and mercy as we head into this holiday season. lean on one another and be kind. Love to you all good people. Remember a big table is better than a small one.

I will do my best to lighten things up here on the blog coming up. But as in anything life will have its say which influences what you see here.

Even Dogs Love Thanksgiving

Something funny from our four-legged friends as they celebrate their own Thanksgiving feast. Warning cuteness and mass gorging ahead.

OK Monday, Be Good To Us

It’s Monday and the beginning of a new week where America celebrates its Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday. May today be good for us all. Friends, have a great day and a better week.

Something Funny For A Monday

This is a bit over-the-top, but the sentiment is understandable. Granted there will be people putting up Christmas trees on Halloween night for sure. All I say is let Halloween and Thanksgiving have their moments in the spotlight.

Now for those who have already put up Christmas ware because you wanted something bright and beautiful to be in your homes then more power to you. We all need that.

Happy Thanksgiving Canada!

To my dear friends in Canada I wish you a great Thanksgiving Day whether you are celebrating on Sunday or Monday. May your plates be full, and your hearts warmed in this time. It’s a different holiday this year but the wishes of togetherness with family and friends is eternal. Be well and safe. Grace and peace to you all from Nova Scotia to British Columbia and all the places in between.

Today in America its Thanksgiving and its a time of feasting, family, friends and hopefully fun. It’s a tradition that has spanned generations. People coming together to express what they are thankful for is the rule of the day.

Yes, this holiday is not without its baggage. Sure there are stories of mistreatment and anguish in recorded history. We cannot ignore those facts because it would not be respectful to those who have suffered.

However, we can remember the problematic stuff and forge a way forward that recognizes the best of what Thanksgiving can be. In the times in which we live its good to have something positive to say and to remember the good times in our lives.

For many, it’s hard to be thankful and that is where we can come in to help provide experiences that they can hold onto.

I believe this holiday is one of redemption and renewal for something good. Happy Thanksgiving to each of you, far and wide.
