Daily Prompt: Fishing

Fishing is a popular activity around the world. Whether it be a rod and reel or a net or your bare hands people like to catch fish of all types. Some fish head for the dinner plate while others are just released. There is science and techniques required to be good at it.

It’s also a metaphor for going after customers and clients for one’s business. You have to throw out a wide net to get what you want. The thing about fishing is that you have to know what you are looking for and the water you are searching.

My grandfather took me fishing as a kid. I have done it with friends as an adult. This is a relaxing activity. Sometimes it’s not about the fish, it’s about being together.

Daily Prompt: Maddening

What is truly maddening is having a goal and not being able to reach it. It’s also doing the same things over and over again and expecting something new to come of it. A dog chasing its tail to no avail. Driving through stop and go traffic when you are late to get to an appointment. Frustration over a situation you find yourselves kind of stuck in. Much of life is maddening it’s just the way it is.

Daily Prompt: Culture

Culture is defined as the customs, arts, social institutions, and achievements of a particular nation, people, or other social group.. It is also defined biologically as the cultivation of bacteria, tissue cells, etc., in an artificial medium containing nutrients.

So if you think about it culture is a collection of various things that sustain life in a community and in a person. Without culture life is not as rich, rewarding, interesting and healthy. We need culture of all types to make the world a better place. Culture is expressed differently around the world and that is what makes life more interesting and diverse. There are many things of culture that feed our bodies and feed our souls. Every part of life is dependent upon one form of culture or another. Multicultural life means that we recognize the rich heritage of people of all walks of life. No two people are the same and perhaps that is a good thing.

Celebrate culture in all it’s expressions today and always.
