Comments can inspire, enlighten, inform. They can also demoralize, hurt and wound. Sometimes a comment can reveal more about your readers than the post reveals about you. We have all made comments that in our head sound innocent but when it’s on a screen it looks like something else. We can use our comments to lift someone up or to tear them down when they don’t need to
The old saying if you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all applies but is often not followed. What you say has weight and consequences. Everyone has said dumb things they regret and wish they could take back but it is also hard to put toothpaste back in a tube. Be sure to leave comments but choose words wisely. It’s always something about those comments.
Hello good people! This morning I’m making French toast for breakfast before heading to church. This afternoon its about football with the Atlanta Falcons vs. Green Bay Packers playing for a shot at the Super Bowl. I do plan on getting a few things done before settling in for the game though.
I am encouraged by what I saw yesterday during the Women’s March. This is going to be four very long years and it will take a resistance to keep things as level as possible for everyone. Way to go everyone who demonstrated peacefully but spoke loudly.
Sunday is one of my favorite days but on the other side of it is another work week ahead. Work has been very demanding and stressful as of late. I need days like yesterday to just chill out and to renew myself. Life seems to give us chances to get away from it all if we just take it.
My friends, have a great Sunday. Let’s have some fun or something like that.
It’s amazing we have to figure out what’s real and what’s fake these days. Sometimes the lines are blurred between the two. Whether it be news or what you put in your coffee to make it sweeter, less bitter you have a choice on what to consume. As the classic rock group Queen once sang “is this real life or is it just fantasy” that is the magic question everyone asks. Some people like fake things like diamonds and handbags because you don’t have to pay the real deal price. Information is one of those things that is life and death because depending on what you believe you might do more harm than good. Buyer and believer beware in the real vs. fake thing we all must cope with daily.
Crossing in simple terms means going from one spot to another. Going from one side of a street to another sometimes requires help of a crossing guard who can stop traffic and to keep you safe. It’s a place that where you can transition safely. People every day are crossing from life to the afterlife. In many places its where rail and roads cross over one another. Without crossing we would just be left in the same place.
In a few hours the world will renew itself and ring in the new year of 2017. Every year is a new set of opportunities to do things to make our lives and the lives of others better. Perhaps it’s also a time to right some wrongs and do things better or different. Renewal comes in many forms and is very personal. I am hoping for global renewal despite the political forces that are at play. Cleansing, purging, clearing can be a renewal and restoration of space and place. Many need spiritual and emotional renewal in the coming year. No matter what we all need some renewal in mind, body and soul. Think of a new calendar as a clean slate that can give us all a second chance.
