I appreciate when fellow bloggers inform me on things I don’t have a working knowledge of. So many people out there have emotional issues and there are things that can trigger a response that is not always healthy. Having an awareness of issues that impact people can help me be more sensitive to the problems of others. There are a great number of things that can impact a person and you have to be sensitive to that. Everyone has the right to say what they want but they also have a responsibility to be mindful of the feelings of others. So with all this being said being sensitive to others and being kind are two things to put into best practices online. Also call folks on it when they aren’t, me included.

Rambling About Negativity
Maybe its me but there seems to be a lot of negativity in the world. We are all living day-to-day trying to get by but there are lots of things that drag us down. People these days find it easier to rail against something and complain about it than try to fix the problem. Wouldn’t it be better to light a match to scare away the darkness than to just let the darkness consume ones heart and mind? It’s a matter of people wanting things a certain way and it’s not working out for them. I don’t know but perhaps we need more light and levity to get us through. It’s so easy though to be Debbie Downer than to encourage and enlighten. There are things I get down about, everyone does but there are a lot of things to be grateful for. Maybe we should try to focus on those things. Just saying.
Rambling About Suffering
The thing about suffering is it gives you experience that can help others get through their own suffering. It’s a part of our shared humanity. Pain informs you who you are and tells others how you deal with what life throws at you. From a faith perspective its important to know its intentional. No matter what rely upon others to help you get through pain and suffering you are going through. It’s what we are all here for.
Rambling About Time and Money
Everything comes down to price and convenience if you think about it. Do we have time to devote to something and will it fit into our calendar and is it close by. Friends, most people are about time and money…two things we seem to have less of these days, although we still have the same 24 hours in a day but our money is always in flux.. Time and money are things we lament and celebrate in our culture. This is really a statement on what our values and priorities are.
Rambling About Conflict
I hate conflict. Arguing makes me highly uncomfortable. However its necessary in life. We experience conflict at work, at home, in community, everywhere. People, like me will try to avoid it whenever possible. However to restore peace and keep order we have to fight a little.
If people would just learn to work things out then we would have a better world to live in. Exploring our problems can be a painful process where people can either be brought closer together or torn apart. We have a world where there is so much violence and bloodshed that has cost us lives and relationships.
Sometimes it best to part ways however when possible let’s do the work to keep people and community together.
As the Beatles once sang “We can work it out”
Rambling About Religion
Religion for many has become all about sin instead of doing something different like bringing people together who have different lives and ideas. Religion can be used to promote community and change instead of tearing our world apart. I think developing relationships with one’s higher power and other people of faith can also be a good thing for the world.
I am a unapologetic believer in that faith should rooted in the reality of today and that people should have have an abundance of love, grace, peace. People should have the freedom to be who they are and secure in the knowledge that God created them to be who they are. I also think that God’s story is still being written in the here and now.
If someone tells you that your faith isn’t strong enough because it doesn’t fit into their view of what faith should be then tell them you are working out your relationship with God/Higher Power in a way that makes sense to you. Each person is to work out their relationship with fear and trembling.
The way you treat others and relate to the world informs everyone about your relationship with and understanding of your higher power…Tony Burgess
