It costs you nothing to be kind, nice, concerned, compassionate. However, it will cost you a fortune and your soul to be mean, spiteful, racist, homophobic and other evil things.
Rest In Power Leslie Jordan

Leslie Jordan passed away and our world is a less better place. He was a proud native Chattanoogan who went to Brainerd High School and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He was also a gay man growing up in the buckle of the Bible belt who went on to bring light and laughter to the world as an award winning actor. He also kept our spirits high during the early days of the pandemic right here in Chattanooga. He was a great person who we will be very missed. Rest in power, Leslie.
Happy Diwali, The Festival Of Lights

Diwali is the Indian “festival of lights”—a holiday that celebrates the triumph of good over evil. This year, Diwali will be celebrated on October 24. Though technically religious, it’s also become a cultural event in North America that’s celebrated with sweets and special foods.
To all my friends celebrating, have a blessed time of light, love, peace and community.
Farewell 13th Doctor, Thank You Jodie Whittaker #DoctorWho
Tonight we say farewell to Jodie Whittaker who played the 13th Doctor in the iconic British sci-fi show “Doctor Who”. She was also the first woman to play the role. I loved her performances and I wish she could stick around another season or two. But this show is built on change and the next Doctor will be Ncuti Gatwa who will be the first person of colour to play the role.
Sunday Reflection – Worthy Of Grace
Working for justice is an important act of love and peace. It requires a lot of us. Caring for the least fortunate is humanity in practice. There are some who are by society’s standards aren’t desirable but they need grace the most. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone is worthy of forgiveness.
I think compassion is in short supply and we need to generate more of it. My friends may we all be humble and extend arms that embrace those who struggle in life. May the creator be with us all as we live imperfect lives.
People are worthy of grace in abundance no matter who they are. Let’s hope we all learn from our mistakes and seek to be better and do better.
(I believe in what I just said in this post. However, there are some who need to be held accountable for their actions that have done great harm to others. They are worthy of forgiveness too but they also must ask for forgiveness for what they have done.)
Giving Blood On A Sunday

I donated blood today at Church which brings together a couple of worlds of mine. Twice a year we do a blood drive which I organize because it helps those in need. In full disclosure, I work at Blood Assurance which is our regional blood bank that brings a mobile donation unit to the church. We do this as an outreach to our community to provide life-saving blood to patients in the hospitals we serve.
