Van Halen – Right Now… Something Timely

This is a timely song from a time gone by. This is Van Halen in Right Now.

Farewell Eddie Money and Ric Ocasek #eddiemoney #ricocasek

Eddie Money and Ric Ocasek of The Cars have passed away in the past few days. They were important parts of the soundtrack of my youth in the 1980’s. Both men were rock and roll through and through. Their voices are distinctive and timeless and they will be remembered now and forever.

Throwback Thursday – Styx – Mr. Roboto #TBT #Styx

Styx is a rock group that made it really big in the 1970’s and 1980’s. I saw them in Concert in 1983 during their “Kilroy Was Here” tour. This song is theatrical and has a theme of people not wanting to be robots but to be themselves, something everyone can identify with.

Music Monday – Bruce Hornsby And The Range – The Way It Is

Somehow this song is kind of relevant to many. But I think hope is more powerful. From 1986 this is Bruce Hornsby and The Range with “The Way It Is”

Tunes Tuesday – The Cars – You Might Think. You Might Have Heard It on #BrainDead

This song is visually stunning and very 1980’s. The Cars are one of those american pop/rock bands that have interesting vocals and catchy tunes. On CBS TV a show called “BrainDead” has been using this tune to indicate when people who have been infected by alien bugs are on the scene. I would have never thought this song would be brought back into popularity in such a way.

Tunes Tuesday – Foreigner – “Urgent”

I normally post a Tunes Tuesday but this weeks installment comes a day later. This song from Foreigner is a classic and speaks to how life is Urgent, love is Urgent, everything is Urgent.
