In watching the Red Nose Day special last night I was reminded of how life in other places is full of challenges and heartache. Even in our own country you find areas where people are struggling and just trying to get by. For the most part our country is one of great wealth and opportunity but it seems for only a few. If you have your health and a roof over your head you are doing better than most. Greed is not good and politically it seems to be a rallying cry. A great nation will be one where people of all faiths, creeds, no faith, orientation and heritage will be able to have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Anything less than that is just average.

Land of Opportunity, Everywhere
I am an American but I must say that my country is not the only land of opportunity. We have a big bowl but there are millions of fish in that bowl too. Everyone has a dream but people can achieve their dreams and build their own countries where they come from. I know the USA has a image around the world but really we aren’t all that. We can’t seem to treat those in the fringes well. Non-natives aren’t looked at all that well by everyone.
Every land can be a land of opportunity. America does not have a monopoly on building a bright future. I am not anti-immigrant or anything like that or even racist for that matter. I think the best and brightest of places like India, Canada, UK and continents like Africa and South America need their own to stay home to make their home and native lands even better for a new generation.
Everyone has a chance to do amazing things and there are lots of places that need that chance to flourish, thrive and become their own lands of opportunity.

This reminds me a little of the TV show “Revolutions” where there were different national territories established after the power went out across the world. It also has shades of Panem of “The Hunger Games”

Fear Not
Today lets not focus on fear but lift up hope. Fear inspires hatred and we need to love more I think. Perhaps today we should focus on the things that make our world better for everyone, maybe that will transform bad people into good people. Our world needs change and it begins with the person you see in the mirror every morning. Fear not, have faith, lets do this!
A Short Commentary on Donald Trump
Donald Trump is running for president of the United States. He said that we should ban Muslims from entering the United States temporarily until the government gets its act together…. Well Mr. Trump is 100% wrong and his words are racist and un-American. He along with many in the country are buying into fear and that is not what we are about. I believe in better angels and the diversity of this nation. Let’s do better and be better. I call on people to register to vote to keep our country strong and progressive for all people of all genders, creeds, faith and orientations. Let real freedom ring for all to sing. Mr. Trump, shame on you and God have mercy on your soul.
