Thank You, You Know Who You Are.

There are lots of people who have been there for me through the years. I don’t think I say thank you enough to them. Without their generosity and care my life would be very different. We all need to be extravagant with our thanks and gratitude to everyone who makes our lives better. Our lives are not meant to be spent on an island so we have to be in this life together. I can’t list everyone I need to thank, that would be a really big blog post but I just want to say thank you everyone, you know who you are. Once again, thanks!

Thank you to http://loveyouandthem.wordpress.com/ for inspiring this post.

Leadership And Listening

This sign is posted in one of the elevators at my work. Listening is an important part of leading people. You have to be able to take information from those who you work with, process it and then take action based upon their experiences. At work I am a team leader and I make it a rule to listen to others and to create solutions based upon what they have to say. Buy-in from those who work with and for you is important.

Rambling About Reblogging

I wish there was a setting that would prevent selected blogs from being reblogged by other users. Personally I don’t reblog a lot of stuff because I believe in generating original content. I will only reblog something if it fits in the philosophy of my blog. There is some value in reblogging because of the traffic it generates but there is also a creepy aspect about re-posting something personal from another blogger. With a little imagination and creativity people can do amazing work.

I Am Celebrating 10 Years With WordPress.com

screenshot_2016-05-17-14-12-15.pngI have been blogging off and on with WordPress.com for 10 years. Back in April of last year I migrated from Tumblr and made this my full-time online home. I appreciate the WordPress.com team for providing a great platform for connection, creativity and communication. Blogging here has given me the tools to have a solid online presence. Here is to another 10 years with WP.com.

A Short Ramble About Blogging

Blog for the love of it first. Make connections. Have fun. Don’t let your blog get the best of you. Don’t worry about number of followers so much, if you do regular posts they will come. Tag surf and find other donors that you can establish relationships with. All of this will happen in time. Vary the format in which you blog. Post media such as video, audio and pictures every now and then.

Be yourself first, that will draw folks to your blog.
