Universal Joint a Unique Restaurant in #Chattanooga

This is a restaurant that is in a former gas station in downtown Chattanooga. The Universal Joint is a great place for a meal on a Friday night, or any other time of day. The brisket tacos with tater tots we’re great. It won’t be the last time we go there.

It’s Wet All The Time Lately

It’s rained a lot lately around here. We are have had almost as much rain as we did last year and it’s just July. I would not mind less rain and more sunshine with temperatures in the lower 80s. But until then gotta stay dry as much as possible.

Perspective On Life and The World Courtesy of The Tennessee Aquarium

Fish and Sharks swimming at the Ocean’s Journey section of The Tennessee Aquarium

I was looking at this section of the Tennessee Aquarium and a couple things struck me. These animals don’t know what in the world is going on outside this tank. All of them are just living their lives the best way they know how to. Sure that shark can eat all the things in that tank but he doesn’t. Perhaps he has learned to live in peaceful co-existence with the other creatures in his small world. Yes there are handlers that take care of all their needs but still its a very peaceful life.

As I gazed upon this sight it relaxed me and it reminded me that you have to keep swimming in the case of the shark but being a part of something bigger is quite awesome. There was a relaxation thing too where seeing fish float and swim free of the cares that bog me down. Maybe we need to all just chill out and enjoy the place and space we have. I am glad I had this moment with these creatures and this place. Perhaps I need this more often.

A Day Of Fun At The Tennessee Aquarium In #Chattanooga (Slideshow)

My hometown of Chattanooga is home to one of the great aquariums in the world. The Tennessee Aquarium has been around since 1992 which makes it 25 years old. Thousands of visitors each year come here to encounter fish, otters, penguins, birds, butterflies, sharks, primates and so much more. It’s a great educational institution that brings people to the city to learn more. We got tickets from some very generous friends and made a family day of it. It’s kind of nice to play tourist in your own city. I hope you enjoy this slideshow of what we saw.
