REO Speedwagon is one of the best bands of the 1980’s. They are still touring and they will be in concert tonight at Chattanooga’s Riverbend Festival. I can’t wait to see their show.

Just Me and The Mayor Hanging Out At Work
Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke came to make a blood donation today. I helped arrange his visit to Blood Assurance where he gave to save three lives. It was a thrill for for m to meet him at work. This was cool if you ask me.

June 14 is World Blood Donor Day. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate those who give the gift of life and spread the word about the value of donation.
What we see every day around the world is situations where blood is needed for those in need whether it be for surgery or because they have been in a serious accident and require an emergency transfusion or as we have seen in Orlando the need because of a mass shooting. You never know when you will need blood to save your life or even saving the lives of someone you love. Being a blood donor means saving 3 lives with every donation. Two Years Ago at Riverbend Festival

I saw the classic rock group Boston play and it was one hell of a show. Hit after hit was played that night. It was a spiritual experience at a time when I needed it.

The human condition in all its wonder is found on display at a music festival like Riverbend. All types are represented bere. People of all sizes are dressed in interesting fashions. They are in varied states of consciousness and sobriety. People watching at its very best in a place like this. Diversity is the rule not the exception.
Chances are that you will run into someone you know from some part of your life. It is not a place for an introvert who isn’t good in a crowd. For some who thrive in this environment It’s all in the fun.

Chattanooga’s family reunion as we call The Riverbend Festival happens each June on the 21st Century Riverfront. There are 5 stages of acts of all kinds performing music of all kinds. Of course there is food, merchandise and community organizations making this a special time of year.
This year the highlights of the festival is Heart, REO Speedwagon, Blood Sweat and Tears, Salt and Peppa, 38 Special and Here Comes The Mummies will appear on The Coca Cola Stage which is pictured above.
There are some indie acts who will be found on the smaller stages.
