A roller coaster of a campaign 18 months in the making arrives Monday at a huge moment for Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump: a 90-minute debate, with much of the nation expected to tune in amid great uncertainty about what they’ll see. Clinton and Trump to finally meet on debate stage – The Washington Post
Tonight is a huge moment in the American presidential election. Hillary Clinton will debate Donald Trump in front of the nation. It will be on all the network channels and cable news outlets. Hillary is more experienced in this format because of her 2008 but I am not counting out what Donald will do. This is a huge event and will tell us where we are in the process.
Independence Day, is annually celebrated on 15 August as a national holiday in India commemorating the nation’s independence from the British Empire on 15 August 1947… From Wikipedia
To all my Indian friends and fellow bloggers I hope you will enjoy the day. Celebrate and remember those who made it possible. I am grateful for our connections and friendship. May your freedoms always be renewed in mind, body and spirit as well as political.
I am taking a break from watching the news. After the past couple of weeks its a good time to do it. Sure I will keep up with entertainment and weather stories but the hard news I am just needing to avoid. When you feel passionate about something and a news story seems to be tilted in one direction or another you get riled up and it raises the blood pressure. Facebook makes it hard to do that but you just scroll by fast.
My philosophy is to be informed on the issues but sometimes they can be a little much and everyone needs a news break.
If our fear is stronger than our hope then our nation will never be great…it will just be scared and afraid and very alone. The world is changing, people are evolving. America is a better place when EVERYONE has a seat at the table and they are secure in the fact that they matter. The future is a place where individuals of all creeds, color, orientation and heritage will have a responsibility in moving the country forward, not back. As President Franklin Delano Roosevelt once said “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself”
Are we going to be America the great and beautiful or something else? Fear not is mentioned in scripture. Maybe that is a lesson we should all heed.
