A Note About My Political Posts

It’s no secret I lean left/liberal and I make no apologies for that. One week from today we in the United States will have a new president and that scares the hell out of me. Sometimes you have to speak out about things that deeply concerns you and this is one of those times. You can’t be silent when you see something wrong or threatening. I have too many friends who are scared out of their minds because they are looking at their lives being severely impacted by the desire by some to discriminate and turn back the clock when things were good for them. People on the fringes are in peril. Something has to be done before it’s too late.

If you wish to stop following me I understand. What is happening is too important not to say something to defend the rights of 100% of our population. Too much is at stake. Now is the time to act.

Thank you for your care and the space to express myself. Even when we disagree we can be civil, courteousness.

Commentary On Care

We live in a selfish and broken world where some people are out for themselves. It is truly a shame to see a vital resource that is keeping some folks alive being dismantled due to politics and greed. We talk about morality but to me when someones death could have been avoided and help wasn’t there then is when we should question why didn’t they have help. Faith-based institutions cannot support everyone, charities are stretched to the limit and private industry doesn’t do as much as they could for their employees. My friends I know this is a complicated issue but aren’t we to love one another, to be our brother’s keeper to help keep hope alive? When will preserving life be more important than preserving wealth? If you were in a position to help, what would you do? Wouldn’t you want your neighbor to be healthy and full of life? If you don’t have your health, what do you have?

Deaths In America – Terrorism vs. Gun Violence

This graph is astonishing and sad at the same time. Something needs to be done about gun violence in our country. The terror at home is a serious problem. I get that citizens have the right to bear arms but I am not sure the founding fathers could have envisioned people with their own private arsenal. We live in such a wild west place now that it is truly scary.
