The Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, or Theophany, is the feast day commemorating the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Originally the baptism of Christ was celebrated on Epiphany, which commemorates the coming of the Magi, the baptism of Christ, and the wedding at Cana.
I was baptized when I was 11 and it’s something that has sustained me spiritually all the days after. It’s something that has formed me to be the person I am today. Granted, I am not a perfect follower of Jesus but I hope I do my best.
We wrestle with time every day.
I am a little late in writing about New Year’s Eve. Twenty-Twenty Three is over and Twenty-Twenty Four is upon us soon. I can say that 2023 was a year where we lost our Cody boy dog, went through some health challenges, and more.
There were also things happening in the world and that happens all the time. We have to hope that people can find a way to put down their personal weapons of mass destruction both big and small. Let’s hope for some peace and comfort.
Every new year has its own mystery and challenges so we wait and see. Thank you for your friendship, support, and care over the past year. We have another chance, that is all we can ask for.
This is an old post that I wanted to share again. It still holds true seven years later.
