Europe: The Final Countdown

The 1980’s hair band Europe seems to be back in fashion. Their song “The Final Coundown” is featured in a series of commercials for the Geico Insurance company. Everything old is new again it seems. I remember this song from the fist time it was released back in 1986. This song takes me back to some good times in life.

Tunes Tuesday: Pat Benetar: Invincible

This song is a powerful anthem of empowerment for anyone. It was also in the sound track to the movie “The Legend of Billie Jean” which was one of the cooler flicks of the 1980’s and starred Helen Slater and Christian Slater.

I heard on the radio that country music artist Lee Ann Womack is 49 today. We have fond memories of her hit song “I Hope You Dance” when we lived in Murfreesboro, TN for 4 great years. The truths of this song are very universal for everyone. We shouldn’t sit out the dance of life and we shoule learn to live the best we can.
