An important part of blogging is how the reader responds. They can’t respond if the typeface is too small or there is too much going on the screen at one time. I have used 1, 2 and 3 column layouts in my blogging career but the two column seems to strike a good balance of information and content with some eye candy thrown in.
The Toujours theme offers a font size that is easy to read along with plenty of blank space it doesn’t seem so crowded. I have used this theme before but I am employing some new ways to display recent posts among other features to make the blog stand out.
I hope you will enjoy my blog even more with these aesthetic and functional changes. Your interest in me and this blog are appreciated.
I have nearly 2500 followers on this blog. This is not to brag to but to bring up a larger point in that about 5% of them have regular engagement (commenting and liking). Perhaps it says something about bigger not always being better. Some of my fellow bloggers have 4 times the followers I do and have way more activity. I wonder if its the content or the person that keeps them coming back. In either case you have to offer something to keep people interested in you and what you are writing.
Sure there are case studies about such things but when it comes down to it you have to just be yourself and hope that can be the magic that draws people in. Everyone has their own sauce so to speak and the ingredients are as varied as their are recipes for this social thing.
But there is also the school of thought that one can overthink it and that is never good. Just saying.
During the retreat I heard some incredible stories from people of faith. We all have stories to tell where things have happened to us that have shaped who we are. It’s important to tell your story because we all have something to say that can move others. Everyday the tale that is your life is being written. Be sure to blog it. That is important stuff.
This song by One Direction is a reminder of the stories we all have to tell. No one is boring.
Many people have worked a long time to make this country a place of freedom and opportunity for ALL! Their sacrifice and labor should be honored and respected. People should have equal access to life, liberty and happiness. To discriminate or promote fear and hatred is fundamentally unAmerican. We should turn the page and live in a twenty first century where we are moving forward and not retreating to a bygone age. Peace to all.
Independence Day in India is annually observed on August 15 as a national holiday commemorating the nation’s independence from the United Kingdom.
To all my blogging friends from India I wish you a great day and may your country continue to be a place of cultural and human resources that makes the world a better place. Thank you for your friendship and inspiring me to be a better blogger.
