Stewardship for many is a religious sort of word that might involve giving money to ones place of worship. I think of it as something universal in how we take care of what we have and where we spend our time and treasure. It’s overseeing and protecting something worth preserving.
What we are given is valuable and sharing those gifts can make things better for everyone. Where your money goes is a reflection of what is in your heart. No matter if you believe what you have received comes from a divine place or the sweat of one’s labor being a good steward is a wise thing to do.
Spirit Day now occurs every year on the third Thursday in October, during National Bullying Prevention Month, and has become the most visible day of support for LGBTQ youth.
As a person of faith, I know God made us ALL of us in His image. To bully someone for living their truth and for how they love is wrong. LGBTQ folks have a right to happiness and the blessings of their creator. Some of my best friends are people of faith who happen to be a member of the LGBTQ community. I stand with them for being awesome people. Love is Love my good people.
As a nerd grows older does, he/she will they still have the enthusiasm about the stuff they are interested in? This is a question I am wondering about. Right now, I am in my 50’s and I am still nerdy about a lot of stuff, and I suppose I have my church (there are loads of nerds there), friends, and the Internet to thank for that. I just hope I don’t lose that sense of curiosity and joy that comes along with being a different sort of dude who sees things from a vastly different lens.
Stay nerdy my friends. Stay nerdy. Be yourself. The world needs us
