To all the teachers out there who get it done in the classroom I salute you. Thank you for being in the trenches to make our future as a global community better. You make the world a better place by teaching the lessons of life in a meaningful and profound way. Teach your children well and they will do awesome things. This Teacher Appreciation Week is to shine a light on the special people you are. Thank the teachers who meant a lot to you today!

Dad Rock

A person I work with made me aware of a term for the music of my generation, “Dad Rock”. Music from people like Huey Lewis and the News, Boston, Phil Collins, Genesis, Kansas, Supertramp, Cheap Trick, Steely Dan, Heart, Foreigner, Jefferson Starship, Rick Springfield, Styx, Toto, Chicago, Van Halen, Peter Frampton, and the list goes on. All of these artists are important to my generation.

I am not a dad but I won’t shy away from embracing the term. Friends I am a middle-aged person who came of age in the 1980’s.

As the scene is dominated by Taylor Swift, Jay Z, Beyonce’, Fall Out Boy, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, Megan Trainor, Katy Perry, etc. today its safe to say that “Dad Rock” in some way influenced today’s talent in much the same way my father’s “Dad Rock” inspired the music of my generation.

It is interesting that music of my generation is being used in commercials to appeal to my age range. The nostalgic angle is a good one to sell goods and services. It’s all good though.

Six Word Story

It’s always tough to start anew.

OK Monday, Let’s Do This

Ready or not, Monday is here. Let’s do this…whatever this is. Have the best day possible good people. Now we get coffee.

The Scenic City – Chattanooga, TN

Today we took a turn around the Bluff View Art District of Chattanooga after lunch. Tony’s Pasta shop is where we normally celebrate our anniversary but due to the fact we went to Florida on our actual anniversary those plans got put on hold. Today was overcast but not too warm so we enjoyed the afternoon hanging out in one of our places in our hometown. Within walking distance are two walking bridges, condos, the Hunter Museum Of American Art and many other cool things. Each view is wonderful and full of manmade and natural beauty that surrounds our cities downtown core.
