Any cause or movement is bigger than the person who inspired it. The ideas and spirit of a movement should be carried forward by the people who were encouraged to dream and think about a brighter future. No one person can do it alone. Change requires everyone working together. Granted there will be disagreements along the way but that is what happens when humans work together. Anything worth doing requires a lot of work. In certain situations it mightย require another person taking the movement and advancing its ideas to the masses. Transition is never easy but you have to faith and hold people accountable to making things happen. It can take years and generations for a cause or a movement to be realized in full. If you want something done, it requires your participation and your dedication. There are sometimes bigger things at stake than the movement too.

Watching The Democratic National Convention

I am a Democrat and I have been waiting for this for awhile. Without the Hillary v. Bernie thing it’s important to know how much is at stake in this election. It’s always good to be informed. Most importantly you have to vote to have your voice.
Hillary Clinton Selects Tim Kaine, a Centrist Senator From a Swing State, as Running Mate – The New York Times
Hillary Clinton named Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia to be her running mate Friday, according to a senior campaign official, selecting a battleground state politician with working-class roots and a fluency in Spanish, traits that she believes can bolster her chances to defeat Donald J. Trump in November.
It’s a good pick and someone who will provide some experience and he will help her win in some swing states. I have no problem with this.
The World Has Been Serious Today

The world from my perspective has been serious today. With the tragedy in Nice, France to a national blood supply shortage to all the political games going on we are in a serious place globally and locally. This weekend is the one year anniversary of five servicemen dying here in Chattanooga by a local young man who became a terrorist (that is a word I am not fond of using but sometimes you have to).
I am a guy with a wacky sense of humor. My blog reflects that but sometimes you have to be serious. We have to focus on current events that are impacting our lives and sometimes that requires us being somber and sober about how we relate to the world.
As Jon Bon Jovi once sang we got to hold on to what we got and that is our loved ones and our friends. We have to come together to do great things that will make the bad stuff less loud. You do this by being creative, loving one another and sharing the light of your higher power. Be alive and laugh at the people who are making the world hard for us all. I am kind of tired of all the stuff going on. We need a break from it all.ย Hang in there good people. Stick together. We got this.
Interesting Time In Politics, Get Out And Vote
With Bernie Sanders endorsing Hillary Clinton yesterday and Theresa May becoming British Prime Minister today and of course Donald Trump this is an interesting time in politics around the world. It will be interesting to see how the US election goes. May will be leading the UK out of the EU so that will bring about significant changes globally and for some locally. Theresa May is the second female PM so will the USA see a Female President. If that happens 3 major world powers will have women at the helm.
Politics is ultimately about power and how people manipulate it. There is something about power that changes people.
I am fascinated by how things are going in other races that don’t involve the race for the White House. Politics is very local and personal too. Your local officials such as mayor, city council and county commissioners have way more impact on your own day-to-day life than anything nationally.
No matter what, know the issues and vote. It’s important for those who have the freedom to choose to do so. Politics is ugly but its even uglier when you don’t participate. Make your voice heard, its a good thing to do.
Theresa May: A profile of Britain’s next prime minister – ITV News
Theresa May began her political career in the middle of Margaret Thatcher’s premiership and has long been touted as the woman most likely to become Britain’s second female prime minister.

Later today Theresa May becomes the new Prime Minister of Great Britain. She follows in the steps of Sir Winston Churchill and Baroness Margaret Thatcher. From what I have read she will be a tough leader and will have to negotiate terms of the Brexit leave of the European Union. She is going to have her work cut out for her as she succeeds outgoing Prime Minister David Cameron who served for six years. .
My British/UK friends, what say you about your new Prime Minister?ย
