Something About Posting

It’s interesting how one can post only one thing one day and post many things the next. Blogging is funny that way. Everyone runs out of creative juice then creativity rains from above and you can’t stop yourself from writing and posting. Post frequency is as individual as anything and every person is different in their view of how much to post and when to post it.

For me I post when the lightning strikes and inspiration presents itself. So you might see an endless stream of posts or none at all. Remember its your blog and you make the rules. Be mindful to not overwhelm your readers too often, they might unfollow you. Of course it all depends on when the mood is right and you gotta be ready to post on whatever device is handy.

Something About Job Struggles

I make my living making phone calls for a noble purpose. It can be tough work, just ask my coworkers and they will tell you the same. We all have our own struggles on the job.

Something About The Internet

This is still very true. The Internet can disappoint you sometimes.

Something About Online Living

AAEAAQAAAAAAAAIMAAAAJGY4NTIzYTIyLTlhNjUtNDljZS05YjZiLTFmNjkwZTJjN2MzOAIt seems so many people are living their lives online without stepping away to live it in reality. The lure of a virtual life is so much more appealing than that of a real existence. We find people who can’t differentiate what is artificial and what is actual.

When you un-friend someone on social media it could be interpreted as un-friending in the real world which is not the case but the two seem to have linkage in the hearts and minds of many.

People are emboldened to do and say things on social platforms that they might not say to your face. That in itself can cause many problems and can end friendships and family connections. You have to decide if it’s all worth it.

Everything is amplified online and there is no way to translate full meaning in text or words without possibly offending someone. Freedom of expression is a great thing but with it comes great care and responsibility. You have to know who you are conversing with and not everyone will get what you are saying could be humorous or even serious.

Your online life is to enhance your real world life not the other way around. Although for me I am always looking for things to blog about and to be inspired by what happens to me in daily living.

My friends it’s a very good thing to get out and get off-line for a bit. Get some fresh air, go to a coffee-house and meet friends face-to-face. Engage in conversations over a meal. If you have a porch invite your friends over for real face time. The social network has existed for years before computers or social networking. It will give you a lot of great ideas to post about.

Living online should be done in a measured way. Living off-line is where the action and adventure lies. Having the world at your fingertips does not replace having the world outside your door.

Something About Followers

I have nearly 2500 followers on this blog. This is not to brag to but to bring up a larger point in that about 5% of them have regular engagement (commenting and liking). Perhaps it says something about bigger not always being better. Some of my fellow bloggers have 4 times the followers I do and have way more activity. I wonder if its the content or the person that keeps them coming back. In either case you have to offer something to keep people interested in you and what you are writing.

Sure there are case studies about such things but when it comes down to it you have to just be yourself and hope that can be the magic that draws people in. Everyone has their own sauce so to speak and the ingredients are as varied as their are recipes for this social thing.

But there is also the school of thought that one can overthink it and that is never good. Just saying.

Something About Freedom

Many people have worked a long time to make this country a place of freedom and opportunity for ALL! Their sacrifice and labor should be honored and respected. People should have equal access to life, liberty and happiness. To discriminate or promote fear and hatred is fundamentally unAmerican. We should turn the page and live in a twenty first century where we are moving forward and not retreating to a bygone age. Peace to all.
