Lots Of Notable Passings Lately

There have been a lot of celebrities and people of note who have passed away recently. People who were the faces of generations created memories that will last a lifetime. These individuals are human beings and like all other humans, they will one day leave us for eternity and find communion with the afterlife.

Here’s a short list of people who have passed in the past few weeks. More passed away earlier in the year.

  • Bob Newhart

  • Shannen Doherty
  • Dr. Ruth Westheimer

  • Benji Gregory
  • Joe Bonsall
  • Sika Anoa’i
  • Bill Cobbs

We aren’t even done with the year and this list will grow longer. Please someone protect Dick Van Dyke.

AEW Dynamite 250

Tonight is the 250th episode of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) flagship show “Dynamite”. This is my favorite wrestling show alongside their other shows “Rampage” and “Collision” which air on Friday and Saturday nights. Professional wrestling is my favorite sport for many reasons I will share in another post. Congratulations to Tony Khan and the entire AEW team for great pro wrestling action each week!

Christmas In July Beats Depressing Politics

We are watching Hallmark Channel Christmas movies over the Republican/Trump National Convention. It’s way more fun and heartwarming. Normally I don’t advocate putting my head in the sand but this is an exception for mental health and other reasons. Also, their Christmas movies provide a reminder of cooler days ahead. Christmas in July is also a great thing and everyone should do it.

This Says It All About Mondays

This says it all about Mondays. Some Mondays feel like a week rolled up into one day. Today wasn’t like that but some days are very much like that.

Thought Of The Day 07142024

What happened in Pennsylvania to former president Trump is unfortunate. Gun violence is a vile illness in this country and it cannot be ignored. That being said, for too long we have given guns a pass. Even Trump said people should get over it.

Gun ownership is a right in the USA but with rights come responsibilities and restrictions. People who have been the victims of gun violence deserve better.

I am not going to give Trump or Republicans a break. Too many children have lost their lives to guns. Too many women have been the victims of firearms that shouldn’t have been in the hands of the perpetrators. Something should be done but it won’t because of the sick dependence on the influence and money from the NRA and other organizations.

Gun violence is a moral issue that should have been addressed a very long time ago. Maybe now it will be looked at however I am not holding my breath.

How Old People Say “It’s Time To Go”

I say some of these. What about you my friends who are of a certain age?
