Going Deep

I enjoy looking at a blogs older posts. It is as important as the current posts. A person has a story that has a beginning and a blog is no different. So if you see a bunch of older posts with some unexpected likes that is why. I don’t mind fellow bloggers looking at my older posts. Go for it take a look back.

How many people have ended friendships over the election? – CBS News

Seven percent of voters have lost or ended a friendship as a result of this year’s presidential race, according to a new Monmouth University survey…via How many people have ended friendships over the election? – CBS News

Personally I can say I have had some strained friendships and perhaps some relationships that will never be the same because of this presidential election here in the USA. Politics is personal. There are two things you don’t talk about, religion and politics (and sports in some places) in polite company anyway. After November the nation will take time to heal after this brutal cycle. Let’s hope we can all have a cold one after all this is said and done. Reconciliation will be hard but it’s worth doing.

Daily Prompt: Dilemma

A dilemma is a situation we find ourselves in when we have a choice to make. It could be as important as your career and how to handle a family situation or as benign as what to order from the menu. It’s also when we find ourselves trapped by life’s circumstances. It is like being between a rock and a hard place or perhaps being stuck in a situation you can’t find escape from. Every one of us has been in a dilemma of one sort or another. What we do in that place says something about who we are.

A Ramble About Keeping Your Cool In The Lean Moments

To make anything happen when you are short on resources requires ingenuity and team work. I have been reminded of how you have to inspire others and to remain positive when things are not optimal in the situation you are in. For many the reaction when you are behind the eight ball is to panic but you can’t do that. Cooler heads will always prevail.

You have to be a little fearless and experimental to get through the obstacles of the moment. Now it’s OK to be a little afraid as long as you don’t show those cards to anyone. Confidence is a significant asset too (something I am working on) but most importantly keeping your focus on the task at hand can lead to good things. Always keep your chin up your eyes looking forward and find your motivation to move forward.

Status Update

I have concluded my September 11 posts. Thank you for your feedback and support about this time in world history. My future posts will be full of random nerdy stuff that comes from my head. Keep on blogging everyone.

“World Trade Center” A Somber, Serious Movie About September 11, 2001 #911

world-trade-center-poster

This movie by Oliver Stone tells the story of a group of Port Authority Police officers surviving in the rubble of the destroyed World Trade Center on September 11, 20o1. Nicholas Cage puts in a fabulous performance as Sgt. John McLoughlin along with Michael Peña who plays Officer Will Jimeno. This movie is less about the cause of the events but about the people who were doing their jobs that tragic day. Maria Bello and Maggie Gyllenhaal show the angst and waiting that many spouses felt that day as they waited for word about the fate of their loved ones.
