Blog for the love of it first. Make connections. Have fun. Don’t let your blog get the best of you. Don’t worry about number of followers so much, if you do regular posts they will come. Tag surf and find other donors that you can establish relationships with. All of this will happen in time. Vary the format in which you blog. Post media such as video, audio and pictures every now and then.
Be yourself first, that will draw folks to your blog.
I am encouraging all my followers and others interested in my blog to comment away. Your feedback is always welcome. I encourage kindness, respect, constructive criticism and engaging dialogue. Comments are cool on my page. Keep on blogging and commenting good people!
To those who are beginning their blogs or new to blogging I salute you for being awesome in joining the blogging community. Here are 3 tips to make blogging fun and to help you post more regularly.
Write short posts. No more than 3 paragraphs with 3-4 sentences each. Make it on something you are interested in or how your day is going. Some folks will do a poem or other type of post. Remember the attention span of most people is short so brevity is important.
Post pictures. Its an easy way to get a post up with visual impact. Add a paragraph supporting what the picture is about and why it means something to you. You can also use pictures in your short posts.
Post videos. You can embed YouTube videos in your posts which can support the overall theme of your blog. It also makes your blog more multimedia which is always fun.
I encourage every blogger to “Keep on Blogging”. Make this journey fun and connect with other bloggers for more ideas as you go along.
When a blogger finds blogging no longer fun and decides to depart it is a sad thing. Their posts became part of your experience online and they informed you about them and perhaps a little about you. Sometimes people don’t have time or perhaps they lose their fire for it. I hope I never lose interest in this thing called blogging. So to all the bloggers who have moved on I say farewell and may God bless you down the road.
I got listed on someones Influential Blogger’s list on Twitter and that made me think am I that influential? This is just a simple blog of a fairly dorky person who rambles on about stuff happening in his life. There is really nothing awe inspiring about the posts you see here. Tony is a simple person with ideas in his head that sometimes make sense. Just saying.
When you use a hashtag from a national brand you just might get Tweeted back to in a positive way. The power of a hashtag can get you noticed, improve your audience and help you make connections. Today I did a Instagram of my lunch and used the hashtag #velveeta and lo and behold Velveeta responded to my post. Another blogger suzie81speaks talked about How to use Twitter Hashtags in her blog today. It’s worth the read.
