I thank each of you who are checking this blog out from all around the globe. No matter where you are I appreciate your interest. Thanks for opening my eyes to the place where you call home. Blogging can be a great way to explore the world. We are very much alike and different at the same time. Sharing ideas and cultures is what makes this whole thing special. I hope that free speech will be available to everyone one day. Our ideals say something about us and where we come from influences that.
Keep on blogging my friends and rock the world with your posts.
The world is changing whether we like it or not. What was new is now old. The good old days were not good for everyone. Gays can get married in this country now and in other countries. There is a person of color who is president of the United States. Your cell phone replaces a lot of different things like your camera and your personal music player. Boys play with dolls and have tea parties while girls wear cammo and drive a pickup truck. Girls have more opportunities to be awesome women. Racism seems to be sticking around although things are getting better. Men stay at home to care for family and children. Women are running big companies and a few have run countries. Some women are even ministers. The old boy network is being shattered daily. Johnny Carson is no longer on the Tonight Show. Netflix is a noun and a verb, so is Google for that matter. Change is hard, even for me. Traditions adapt to modern times. We are a digital world with some analog people. The struggle continues but more and more the world is changing. Are you going to keep up or fall by the way side?
For some people of faith they are told to fear not. It’s mentioned several times in scripture and perhaps there’s something to it. We are living in an age where paranoia runs rampant but does it have to? Yes there are things to be afraid of but you know I am of the opinion that maybe we buy into scary stuff too much. Our world can be a scary place but you know we can be tougher and fearless. Courage is a great virtue and we need more of it. If we learn to love, offer and receive grace and work to make our communities better then we have a chance. Fear not good people, its a new day, a new opportunity, a new time. Once again, fear not!
Today is set aside as Earth Day. A time to renew our focus on taking care of our planet, the environment and one another. As a global community its our responsibility to be good stewards of the resources this land provides. If everyone does a little it can mean a lot in preserving life here on Mother Earth.
It’s good to be reminded that the east coast of the United States of America is not the center of the universe. Much happens here but its not the only place where important things happen. It’s good to get perspectives from people from other parts of the world. Blogging is a good example of how connected we are. We do indeed live in a world community. Our globe is made up people from all walks of life in all the great places of creation and I am grateful for that.
