These signs are near my house and I see them daily as I go to work. This is just a sampling of all the election activity going on in preparation for the primaries in Tennessee coming up. In many ways these races impact ones daily lives more than the national/federal elections do. Wherever you are, if you have a chance, get out and vote!
To my friends in the UK, GO VOTE! Your voice needs to be heard June 8th. Every vote matters. It will impact everyone in the future. You have a chance to make a difference. Be the change you want to see. Take a friend or two to the polls. You can make history.
Mayor Andy Berke has won Chattanooga’s four-way mayoral race. Berke received 11,991 votes, according to unofficial results posted online by the Hamilton County Election Commission.
I am thrilled about this. In a four-way race there is always the chance of a loss because of vote splitting. He is a great guy and I am happy for these results.
It was a week ago when America went to the polls. As you know by now who was elected and who lost. There is much to contemplate as we move forward as a nation. Many are protesting, many are shouting hallelujah…as for me I am highly concerned and highly fearful for many who are on the margins. Of course history is written in the future as it goes by. People are holding close to the things and traditions that offer them wisdom and comfort. We shall see what our world will be. Decisions have been made, now there is much work to be done.
Some American’s might need to crash on your couches for about 4 years or so. Think of it as being a refugee program of sorts. We can learn Oh Canada and hockey.
