The Review: A Challenge To Do Better

Today I had my annual review at work and it was a positive one. However, there is room for improvement. In any line of work there are challenges to do more and get better. I do have some things to work on so that I can continue to be a leader and producer in my department. Time to roll up sleeves and put nose to grindstone. Time to make the calls and hope for some answers.

Being Happy Or Something Like That, A Sunday Reflection

Happiness is a deeply personal thing that is so fluid and dynamic. I haven’t been truly happy for a long time. Sure I have had moments of joy but nothing long term. People worry about me because I am not full of happy awesome sauce right now and I appreciate their concern. Don’t worry about me. I am not suicidal or anything drastic.

The year 2019 took a lot out of me and I don’t know when my emotional tank will be full again. I suppose it takes a year of recovery to get over a year of hardship, emotional stress, and the death of my father. I am very much a work in progress. People who go through this come out different on the other side and I can accept this.

Believe me, I am grateful for all the support. It’s going to take a while. Being my old self might not be what is in the cards.

The fellowship of true friends who can hear you out, share your joys, help carry your burdens, and correctly counsel you is priceless.

Real Work Struggles Hope In The Midst Of Struggle

When ones job depends on the cooperation of others it has its own unique challenges. People are so random in how they will respond. Nothing is truly predictable anymore. Like the cliche says the struggle is real. Just do the best you can and hope for the best. Yes those are 3 cliches in a row but the sentiments are needed to keep one going.

Hang in there everyone including me.

Creatives Creating Creations Of Chaos

Creative people are a different sort of people. They have a spirit about them that is meant to change the world. With their work comes a responsibility to inspire others and make things better for everyone. Talented people are everywhere and it’s awesome to see them doing what they do. Unfortunately, many creatives have been censored and lost their lives for living their truth and answering the call of life. Some works have been deemed too radical, too scandalous, too revolutionary.

Art like beauty is in the eye of the beholder or in this case creator. The ability to change hearts and minds through art, music, literature, dance is truly powerful. I hope my blogging can do that in some small measure. The greatest thing we can do is to love one another and to inspire others to do the same through our gifts and talents. Everyone has a gift they can share.

Originals are nonconformists, people who not only have new ideas but take action to champion them. They are people who stand out and speak up. Originals drive creativity and change in the world. They’re the people you want to bet on.

Adam Grant

Being original is important. Anything new is worth exploring and if it doesn’t work out then try again. Any inventor will share their experience with you. Creativity is indeed a process and you want to get behind those who are doing it.

All-in-all let your light shine through whatever medium you have chosen to express yourself. Be brave and have fun shaking things up along the way. Don’t worry about causing chaos all the good people do it. Besides some everyone needs little shaking up.
