Set Your Clocks Back One Hour Tonight

Tomorrow standard time returns to clocks in a lot of places. Be sure to turn your clocks back one hour before turning in. You get an extra hour of sleep. Not sure I want an “extra hour” of 2020 though.

Why You Should Blog Reason #1018

I have often thought blogging is very therapeutic and gives you a chance to share your woes with others in the same boat. Right now, we need that support for one another. Thanks for your candor and sharing your experiences that can help everyone make it through another day.

As I always say, keep on blogging my friends.

Sunday Reflection: Love Over Politics

My friends my butt was kicked spiritually today. At church, this morning my priest admonished/encouraged our congregation to put brother/sisterhood above politics. Everyone was called out in his homily/sermon. I know he is right that my love for my brothers and sisters in humanity is more important than politics. That is truth.

Also, truth is that my faith informs my politics as to what makes me, me. Right now, too many people are suffering and there is so much injustice that you cannot ignore it. Righteousness sometimes means disagreeing with your brothers and sisters in a profound way.

It is my hope that I can learn to be more loving and caring for those who disagree with my personal brand of theology and politics. When it comes to the ones you love the most you must make that personal decision how you will react to what they have to say as it comes to their own politics and philosophy.

I suppose this is what reconciliation is about. That word is about action and challenging work. It’s what the world needs more of these days. Good luck to all of us in all that.

What my priest said is something that I hope to apply to my life. However, it won’t be easy. We are human, tribal, and very stubborn. Let’s see how it all goes.

Happy Weekend Friends and Neighbors

The weekend is now and that is awesome sauce. I hope you all have time to rest, renew, restore, and re-create, or try to at least. Be good everyone. Love and peace.

Making The Call, Answering The Call

Today is going to be a busy day for me. The blood bank where I work has a significant shortage in available units in its inventory. As a person who calls donors to recruit them to donate I along with my teammates will be called upon to help stock the shelves so to speak. Going into the Labor Day weekend this call for donors is even more important. Making the call for help is going to be very important today. I am hoping for the best.

Whenever someone makes the call for help its good to answer. Right now our communities needs it in a very big way. You have in in you to do great things pick up the call.

Wednesday Wisdom: Resolving An Issue

Resolving conflicts means taking your issues to those who are causing the problem. Sometimes it requires others to get involved to mediate and help facilitate reconciliation. So much of what we see is airing of grievances in the public spaces that it causes a bigger problem than there should be. Resolving issues requires listening, communication, patience. Sometimes it means a separation or an agreement to disagree but that should only come as a last resort. Hopefully all things are done from a place of respect and dignity. What the world needs now is people coming together when possible.
