I Support Hillary Clinton For President #imwithher

Former US President Ronald Reagan once said America is a shining city on a hill. I believe that promise still possible but it will be achieved by love, grace, mercy and inclusion. It will take a village saying yes we can. America is stronger together. America is a better place when every person can realize the promise of the founders then and now of our freedom to pursue life, liberty and happiness without bounds. As an American first and Democrat second I worry about a future where every person can dream and hope and love who they choose.

The America I know shows compassion and toughness when needed. Our moral compass is built on liberty and justice for all. No matter what your faith, creed, heritage and gender you should have a true level playing field. The days ahead are about setting the table for the future and showing our kids that boasting and bullying are not the hallmarks of what a leader is about. It’s about a lifetime of service of helping people from every walk of life and putting people first.

So without reservation I support the election of Secretary Hillary Clinton as the next president of The United States and Senator Tim Kaine as Vice President.

Secretary Hillary Clinton Makes History – The First Woman Nominated For President #imwithher

This is an exciting moment in American history. I am glad to support her and I hope she will be the first woman elected president.

Rambling About A Movement, Advancing A Cause

Any cause or movement is bigger than the person who inspired it. The ideas and spirit of a movement should be carried forward by the people who were encouraged to dream and think about a brighter future. No one person can do it alone. Change requires everyone working together. Granted there will be disagreements along the way but that is what happens when humans work together. Anything worth doing requires a lot of work. In certain situations it might require another person taking the movement and advancing its ideas to the masses. Transition is never easy but you have to faith and hold people accountable to making things happen. It can take years and generations for a cause or a movement to be realized in full. If you want something done, it requires your participation and your dedication. There are sometimes bigger things at stake than the movement too.

I am a Democrat and I have been waiting for this for awhile. Without the Hillary v. Bernie thing it’s important to know how much is at stake in this election. It’s always good to be informed. Most importantly you have to vote to have your voice.

Hillary Clinton Selects Tim Kaine, a Centrist Senator From a Swing State, as Running Mate – The New York Times

Hillary Clinton named Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia to be her running mate Friday, according to a senior campaign official, selecting a battleground state politician with working-class roots and a fluency in Spanish, traits that she believes can bolster her chances to defeat Donald J. Trump in November.

It’s a good pick and someone who will provide some experience and he will help her win in some swing states. I have no problem with this.

The World Has Been Serious Today

Our Home!

The world from my perspective has been serious today. With the tragedy in Nice, France to a national blood supply shortage to all the political games going on we are in a serious place globally and locally. This weekend is the one year anniversary of five servicemen dying here in Chattanooga by a local young man who became a terrorist (that is a word I am not fond of using but sometimes you have to).

I am a guy with a wacky sense of humor. My blog reflects that but sometimes you have to be serious. We have to focus on current events that are impacting our lives and sometimes that requires us being somber and sober about how we relate to the world.

As Jon Bon Jovi once sang we got to hold on to what we got and that is our loved ones and our friends. We have to come together to do great things that will make the bad stuff less loud. You do this by being creative, loving one another and sharing the light of your higher power. Be alive and laugh at the people who are making the world hard for us all. I am kind of tired of all the stuff going on. We need a break from it all. Hang in there good people. Stick together. We got this.
