After twelve seasons The Big Bang Theory concludes its run tonight on CBS TV. The show is a family favorite and has produced its own cultural buzz as other shows that came before it. The difference here is that it advanced nerd culture and science as being something special, worth while and accessible. It showed how this quirky, diverse group of people became family.
This show also exposed people to so many fascinating people who were smart in their own sort of way and brought you into a the world of nerds that is awesome. Beautifully it unraveled the mystery of how people, space, knowledge and time if allowed to grow and develop can become something fascinating and wonderful.
I will miss this show very much because it gave me a little hope that the heart and the mind can operate as one. It all started with that Big Bang.
I don’t know much about “Empire” star Jussie Smollett but I know he’s an actor, human and happens to be gay. He was attacked in Chicago by men who sought to harm him in a very violent way. Those who attacked him are a part of a great problem of prejudice, hate and homophobia. Smollett has worked to make life better for all in his community. The America of the 21st century should be about love, compassion, inclusion and peace. Those who sought to harm him are a part of a serious problem that must be fixed.

Today is the debut of the 13th Doctor in the long-running science fiction show “Doctor Who’ Jodie Whittaker assumes the role as the first woman to do so. Every time there is a new person playing this iconic role we wonder what they will be like and what they will do. I believe with Whittaker who is a great actress she will make The Doctor her own and treat the role and the institution with reverence and respect. She will be brilliant!
Saving your community and keeping your friends safe is a noble cause. This is a sacrifice people make daily but at what cost to the individual who leads in that cause. Just something that came to my mind after watching the DC Comics show Arrow.

Tonight is the 90th Annual Academy Awards from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California. Jimmy Kimmel will host tonights telecast for the second year in a row. There are some great films (none of which I have seen) nominated and some very talented people up for these prestigious awards. I am hoping for Lady Bird to win Best Picture. Regardless there will be nice looking people wearing great clothes so there’s that.
What do you think will happen?
